This episode in particular makes a lot of the Buffyverse community discuss consent in depth which is the only good thing to come out of this episode because I hate it so much lol

Even with Buffy season 1 being rough, it generally has its own charm. This episode…not so much.

Some people say Season 1 of Buffy is rough but there are no episodes like this that I want to skip with a passion in the first season (thought second and fourth do!) I think Angel's first season is incredibly uneven with episodes like this.

Probably one of the fanbase's least favourite episodes, and I tend to agree. But as with any of few other weaker episodes in the BtVSU I try and remind myself it's not *that* bad in the grand scheme of things. If the average across both series is, say, A- then this one's probably a B- at worst, and if that's the worst the series does then we're very lucky as fans. It's a Monster of the Week, it's fine. It's a little goofy, sure, but whatever. It could be argued it's Angel's answer to Go Fish lol
