I get confused a lot by his blood-eating habits. At the beginning of the season, Cordelia hands him a cup of O+ blood with cinnamon in it. Then they say he only eats blood from the butcher. But then Wesley drank human blood as Angel when he went to protect Virginia Bryce. (I'm pretty sure that's what the guy handed him, or maybe they didn't say.) Obviously, it could just be that drinking blood from a person is just better and more exciting than drinking human blood itself.

It 'could' be that Buffy's blood didn't affect him as much because her blood was actually used to cure him of the poison, rather than feeding him.

This episode was pretty good, and it’s always fun to see David ham it up. You’re right though that the Shroud was whatever it needed to be for each situation. For Angel though, I saw the yellow eyes as matching the vamp face and it making him turn.
