Chapter 9: The party
I jumped from the couch as if I was doing something wrong with my older brother.

“What you guys have been up too so far?” Austin asked.

“We spent most of the day at the beach yesterday. Since Ty was working today, I wandered around the city and went to the gym…”

We chatted a little more about Ryan’s impressions of Los Angeles and Austin went on a long explanation about the new stadium he was working on and the delay with the construction. Apparently, even remotely, he had a lot of work to do.

Mindy had her baby. How could I have forgotten she was supposed to give birth around this time.

“Ty?”
“I’m here.”
“Mindy is going to send you some pictures and she said we could visit her when she’ll be back from the hospital. If you want to, of course.”
“Does she have someone with her?”

Richard turned around to join the conversation.
He was listening to us. I hoped he had not been listening for too long.
“We’ll do whatever you want, honey. A big splashy wedding or a small intimate one. We don’t have to be planning for over a year, we could even get married this summer.”
Janice’s face changed. Suddenly, she lightened up.
“OK! Yes! Let’s do this.”
“You’re sure?”
“Yes! Maybe it’s the alcohol talking but right now, it’s the only thing that I want. Let’s drop our wedding planner. Let’s drop all the guests we don’t like, meaning most of them, and let’s do a cute and sweet thing this summer. I just want to be married to you.”

Loved this chapter!! Also, am I the only one who noticed that Richard's demeanor changed up when "The Man Cave" was brough up. He didn't flinch over Jaspar being a thirsty hoe, it was over the fact he heard that very specific name. He's definitely been there before. Then you have Austin clearly hiding something. Oh the SECRETTTSSSSSSS......

Loved this one and I think it is just what the story needed at this point. Although I am starting to get nervous or wonder what's up with Austin. With the aggressive sex and doing things he had not done before (smelling & licking armpits) could be signs of him cheating. Can't wait until the next chapter.
