I was with Janice in the beginning of this chapter about how quickly ha and Austin had seemingly made up. The way Austin handled the pregnancy and continues to handle it is a problem for Tyler. At this point we only have Austin's word that he and Cassie haven't done anything and I'm not so sure I would be able to believe him because he kept convincingly lying to Tyler with such ease. Although not exactly the same, if you remember Austin started leaving his dorm room to visit that chick in college, without really talking to Tyler about it. Janice is the one who told him that Austin was dating and screwing her roommate almost nightly. He didn't even have a conversation with Tyler when he completely moved out of their shared dorm room. Once again, Janice had that conversation with him as well. His behavior here almost mirrors what happened back in college. I think Tyler is finally starting to ask himself, when will he be Austin's priority.

I agree Timmy, but I think this is Tyler's point. This is not about the pregnancy. He could have been fine with Cassie being pregnant, but the way he found out about it was quite traumatizing. I would even go as far as saying that Ty could also have overlooked the lies, Austin was panicking, he did not know what do to. That is understanble in a way. In the end, what really hurt Ty and made him rethink things was the way Austin just assumed that no matter what, he could make choices for the both of them and Ty would always be there. Austin did say between the lines that he had to think about his options. And then, he did choose Tyler. Cool, but was this fair? Is Tyler supposed to wait for Austin to choose him over his wife? Is he supposed to accept that he has lied to him? Austin did not even consider once that Tyler could break up with him. He considered his options but Austin was certain that if he stayed with Ty, Ty would just be happy about it. I think this fight goes back far in their relationship. Austin broke Ty's heart in MFYIC. Tyler was never really able to move on. And when Austin came back ten years later, Tyler immediately went back with him as soon as he got the chance. At this point though, Tyler is sick of being the one that Austin can always count on. Ty wanted to prove, somewhat, that no, there were things he could not accept. And to bounce back on Memo's comment, it also makes sense (in my views) that Ty sleeps with Austin very quickly when he's back. His first reflex, because he loves him so much and has always loved him, is to forgive Austin and to stay with him. He simply could not leave him... For weeks. The fight lasts 21 days because Ty simply cannot come to term with leaving his best friend, his college crush, the guy he has always loved... He does not consider breaking up. Until Jasper basically asks him if is he is happy and then Ty realizes... Well... No... He loves Austin but he does not feel like Austin is really respecting him. Austin shoudl have talked to Tyler about the pregnancy, should have listened to Tyler about how he felt regarding potentially becoming a step-dad, should have apologized for lying instead of just assuming that "of course, Ty will be there." The way Austin mentions that he will remain married until the baby is born without even checking Ty's feelings, that was a bad move as well. Sorry for the long comment, I have been thinking about this fight for years given the unbalanced relationship with Ty being madly in love, and Austin slowly falling for Ty and only admitting to his feelings years later. That being said, I still think Austin is a good guy. But here, - and for once -, I think Ty is acting reasonably while Austin has messed up in the way he has handled the situation.
