Chapter 3: The Waterfall
The storm had passed, leaving behind a clear blue sky and a warm, gentle breeze.
In other circumstances, this place could have been a paradise.
It was beautiful, stunning even.
But our heroes were stranded on this god-forsaken island, their bodies battered and bruised.
Adam and Jonas stood up, their aching muscles and most intimate parts on full display.
They began their search for fresh water.
Adam knew that they had to prioritize hydration.
It was the only way they would be all right when the rescue came… If ever.
He surveyed the island's landscape, his eyes scanning the craggy rocks and tangled vegetation.
Jonas, ever the optimist, started walking straight forward from a point near the shore.
Even when he was wounded, he was ready to explore, while Adam always preferred the cautious approach.
“I think we should head deeper inland.” Jonas suggested, his voice steady despite their dire situation.
Adam nodded in agreement; his eyes fixed on the horizon as they trekked through the rugged terrain.
Their bodies were sore from their adventure, but they had to find a source of fresh water.
The sun was high in the sky, and the heat became more intense.
They walked for what felt like a full hour but Jonas' determination never wavered.
He was strangely exhilarated by the experience.
The truth was, a part of him had always wanted to find himself in this exact situation, to become Robinson Crusoe for real.
Adam was more worried but he was also relieved to have his best friend by his side and to see that he was doing so well.
He needed the hope and optimism.
He could not refrain from admiring Jonas’ alpha attitude, exploring the jungle stark naked as if he had done so all his life.
Adam also checked the peachy ass bouncing in front of him, but this, he did not even admit to himself.
They barely talked, focusing their low energy on their new mission.

Given the hostile environment, he had many reasons to be scared, maybe a wild animal was about to attack them.
He felt observed at times.
“What is it?”
“Just listen.”
Jonas looked around. He did not notice anything strange.
“What am I supposed to hear exactly?”
“Goodness, Jonas, shup up and listen carefully!”
Jonas obliged.
At first, he did not hear a thing aside from the birds, but then, it hit him.
He could make out the sound of water flowing in a river in the distance.
“Jackpot!” He shouted.
Adam smiled.
They had to search the zone for another ten minutes before stumbling upon a small clearing, and there, nestled among the rocks, was a freshwater spring…
And better than that, a heavenly waterfall at the end of it!
The waterfall was surrounded by lush vegetation that seemed to thrive despite the harsh environment.
The water looked crystal clear, and the men’s hearts raced with excitement as they realized they had found the precious resource.
Water was Life.
They were safe!
Adam began to laugh. He had never been so grateful.
Jonas dropped down onto the cool rocks and dipped his hands into the spring. He cupped them and drank deeply.
The water was clean and pure, but nothing had ever tasted so sweet, and it seemed like no amount would ever quench his thirst.
Adam hastily joined him, and they both drank their fill.
Water dripped down their chins, wringing out their hair and wetting their chests as they swallowed as much as they could.
“This is so good, man. So good!” Jonas exclaimed.
Adam had to agree.
“Fuck… We’re gonna be okay… This is… Oh… This is a miracle.”
He hugged his buddy warmly.
They felt each other.
They needed to touch each other’s skin, to feel their flesh, their bones and their heartbeats pulsing together.
Jonas paused and stared at Adam.
The water had washed away most of the blood and salt, leaving them glistening although not entirely clean.
The moment was definitely peculiar.
They both felt it, the attraction and desire. This was odd.
To be perfectly clear, before this trip, there was absolutely no doubt the boys loved each other, but they had never considered that it might be anything more than friendship.
That could not be, they were both straight married men!
Aside from this silly incident back in college, - a crazy night that they had never mentioned once afterwards -, there had been no ambiguity between them.
Yet, there was a short moment there when anything seemed possible.
It was a flimsy one but it was real.
“You… You should be careful with that wound. You’ll be bleeding again.” Adam said to move on from the palpable sexual tension.
“It’s not even that painful.”
Adam took a step back and rolled his eyes.
Jonas always had to pretend that he did not have any weakness.

Jonas pointed to the waterfall.

Jonas was already dipping his bare feet in the water, walking to the waterfall.
He was not one to talk, but one to act.
The waterfall pooled into a clear, inviting lake at its base, surrounded by smooth rocks.
Jonas stepped under the cascading water first, the water hitting his powerful frame with a soft hissing sound.
He tilted his head back, letting the water cascade over his curly brown hair, his pretty face and athletic body, rinsing away the remnants of their ordeal.
Large droplets dripped down to the tip of his fat dick and meaty foreskin.

Adam could only imagine the pain Jonas must have been in, but his friend had barely winced.
In fact, he had not complained once and he seemed in even better shape than Adam was. Impressive.
“It's nothing.” Jonas said, His voice was nonchalant. “Barely a scratch.”
The dentist ignored him, his eyes roaming the wound.
“I'm going to make sure it doesn't get infected. You can lean against that rock there.”
“Sure, doc. Anything.”
He winked at his friend cheekily.
Adam got a weird and quite unexplainable feeling in the pit of his (empty) stomach.
His fingers traced Jonas' wound, smoothing the edges, but the bruises still left nasty marks.
The water from the waterfall had washed away all the salt and most of the blood, but the wound was still tender, and it was still slightly bleeding.
Adam reached over and grabbed Jonas’ strong arm to pull it up.
“I’m sorry, man, I’m gonna have to push a little harder than I want to in order to clean out the last remnants of dirt and salt. You’ll have to be tough. Are you up to it?”
He kept his voice light, but his expression was serious.
Jonas looked back at him with a nod of understanding. His lips moved into a half-smile.
“I’m the toughest, bro, and I trust you. Do what you need to do.”
Adam’s fingers carefully cleaned the debris and gunk that had lodged into the ragged skin.
“Ah.” Jonas gasped.
Yes, that was painful but necessary.
“I’m almost done, man.”
The patient clenched his fists.
Adam poured a little water from the spring on the wound to rinse it clean.
Afterwards, he rubbed the soft, smooth flesh of Jonas' muscular back and side, carefully drawing the tip of his fingers along the fine lines of dirt left on his skin.

Maybe it was because of the exhaustion, maybe it was because they had just survived death, or maybe it had been inside of him all along, but there was something strikingly different in the way he was seeing his best buddy.
His hands gently caressed Jonas' strong, lean back, washing the remaining of mud away from his tanned skin.
The man deserved a massage after everything they had gone through.
His shoulders were sore and Adam wanted to make him feel good.

Jonas' face lit up, and he quickly gathered a few into his arms.
“I’ll be damned. These will do us good. We should gather as many as we can carry!”
Adam’s practical mindset kicked in.
“We need to be careful, though. We don't want to overdo it and get sick. Let's take a few and leave the rest for later. The trees will still be there in a few hours, and I can see the beach from here, this should be like, our camp, close enough to the waterfall and these trees.”
Jonas grinned, his hands already working to peel a banana.
“Always the cautious one, huh? But you're right. We need to save our energy and keep our strength up.” He flexed his left bicep.
“You’re ridiculous, Joe.”
“Who knew such a place would have so much to offer us though?”
As crazy as it might sound, Jonas seemed actually happy to be there.
They returned to the beach, their arms laden with ripe bananas and mangoes.
The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the shoreline.
Adam and Jonas dropped their precious cargo onto the sand, taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings.
“We’ll need something to carry water around.” Adam eventually said.
“Yeah… I mean, you think we’ll be here for a long time?”
Adam shrugged his shoulders.
“I’m not sure. I’ve been thinking, like… It’s weird that we didn’t hear any helicopter or see any boat around here.”
“Yes, I thought that too. This beach is a perfect spot, people should come here. I’m surprised there’s not a tourist shop in a corner.”
“Maybe we’re simply too far away from the mainland.”
“We cannot be that far. We were on such a small boat…”
“Yeah, I know, but we were going fast and for long enough until we run out of fuel. Do you have any idea how long I drove the boat once we had taken the mushrooms? And to which freaking direction?”
“Nope. Don’t remember anything between the moment I took this poison and then I woke up in the middle of the night, naked on the boat.”
This journey had been an endless back and forth of fear, hope, panic, and then hope again, before returning to a lingering angst.
“Honestly, I have no idea where we are. We cannot see the continent at all… And there’s something else that might be an issue.” Addam spoke.
“What?”
“I don’t think anybody’s looking for us, not yet.”
“I did think about that one.” Jonas confirmed. “We know absolutely no one in Peru, that guy, Mario, is waiting for us to return the boat in only three days from now, and we said Laura and Erica that we couldn’t text them much.”
“They’ll probably worry anyway but it’ll take time before they can call the embassy or something and they start doing research.”
“Fuck. You think we’ll be here more than just a few hours or a couple of days?”
Adam looked at Jonas.
“I don’t know but I think we need to prepare for the possibility that they might start looking for us later than anticipated and that they might have more trouble finding us than we thought. We could literally be anywhere, no one even knew which area we started exploring first.”
Worries creeped inside Jonas.
He tried to remain positive though. He had to or he would break down.
“Well, I, for one, am sure that we can live by ourselves on this island. In just hours, we’ve already found a source of fresh water and some fruits.”
“We’re completely naked, dude, and we cannot survive on bananas for days…”
“We can! Who needs clothes? And we’ll makeshift what we need. We’ll be fine, Adam. Our ancestors did it before us.”
Adam chuckled.
“You enjoy that, don’t you?”
“What?”
“Being here, stranded on an island, fighting for survival. It’s like we’re in one of your reality television’s shows you like so much.”
Jonas smiled.
“Bro, it’s a damn miracle we survived last night! We should be dead by now, I’m just happy to be alive. Imagine what we’ll be able to tell our wives and our friends when we’re back. Maybe we’ll even be interviewed on television.”
Adam chuckled.
“You’re an idiot. We’ll just get scolded by our wives and we’ll have to pay back a ton of money to the boat company and to any rescue team that might come our way. This is going to ruin us.”
“You always have to see the half glass empty, do you?”
They laughed and they stopped talking for a minute.
The beach was bathed in a golden light as the sun dipped lower in the sky, the trees and rocks casting long shadows across the sand.
“First day on the island.” Jonas drew a small line below a rock on the sand.
“Yeap.”
“Do you wanna bet on how many days we’ll be here total?”
“I hope you’ll only draw a second line.”
“Two days then? Hm. Given what we’ve just discussed, I’d bet for four. The one who loses has to repay most of the damages we’ve done.”
Jonas playfully extended his hand.
“Deal.”
For a moment, they just lay there on the sand, laughing at the absurdity of it all.
“This is a great spot to tan. I already know what I’ll be up to tomorrow.” Jonas joked, stretching out his muscular frame.
“Without sunscreen, you’ll just burn.”
Jonas sighed.
“The island is secluded but it’s beautiful, even if there’s no rescue team, someone will eventually pass by, right? People must visit it from times to times.”
“Yeah, sure. Maybe a pirate ship will come along and rescue us.”
Adam tried to match his friend's optimism but he was not very good at it.
After that, they looked at the ocean again, the vast expanse of blue stretching out before them, the tranquil scene now a cruel reminder of their situation.
The water lapped gently against the shore, a stark contrast to the tumultuous storm they had endured.
It seemed impossible that they had survived such a harrowing experience.
The waves had been their enemies, roaring and crashing, determined to devour them whole.
But now, the ocean was a gentle giant, a comforting embrace after the chaos.
They fell asleep on the sand, spontaneously holding hands.

Things are getting hotter quickly in this story, and I’m here for it! Just something that it’s worth to note is that Bananas and Mangoes aren’t native from south america, though adapting really well. The presence of Bananas and Mangoes on the island indicates that: the island fostered human occupation once, or that the continent is not so far away, or at least that there are other islands nearby with human occupation
