I see it differently. Much of our slow maturation is biological. Kids are limited by a brain that is still physically building itself well into early adulthood. Lea was not born with that limitation. She has adult-grade cognitive capacity and started life with a direct download of structured knowledge, plus Sappherous-level privileges and social and economic advantages in her education and upbringing. Soul aside, her system is not childlike, so it is reasonable that she’s developing far faster than a biological human. She might still show her “age” in experience and judgment, but if by “show her age” you mean childlike cognition, impulsivity, or emotional instability, I respectfully disagree. She's a Titan in the making. I’m in the camp that she’s going to be amazing, and then keep being amazing. I mean, if Mr. Mullins shares the same perspective on the physical constraints of cognition, at least. xD

"Tala’s eyes momentarily widened as the City Stone moved toward the superficial like a cork shooting toward the surface of a pond. As it rose, the power funnel collapsed upward, the forces involved compressing the magical conglomeration" Should the "upward" not be "starward"? Looks like the "pond surface" metaphor took over the magical dimensional directions there, "as it rose".

Alat is, I think, entirely out of her mind, describing this as "your biases about Lea's age". You can load a girl up with politeness software and knowledge, but do you seriously think her soul and mind are older? It is honestly bizarre that she's held up as well as she has. I keep expecting something to happen that shows her age.
