It's actually a 15~16th century high general's lamellar armor (찰갑). General Yi likely wore this type of armor. Popular media usually depicts General Yi wearing red brigandine (두정갑) or scale armor (두석린갑), but these types of armor were primarily used around 100~200 years after Yi Soon-Shin's time.

I only knew General Lee's armor in the Chosun dynasty. Is that a soldier's armor? It's awesome.
