Another week, another progress update!
Let's jump right into the games
I made some decent progress for this prequel chapter, but it's not really where I want it to be, to be honest. I really expected to be done by now, with rendering and writing, but theres always things coming up that stop me from doing either of those. My goal was to have a release ready this month, but it looks more and more unlikely I will be able to pull it off... And I feel really fucking bad about that. The last beta release for the prequel was in June and I hate being this slow with stuff like that. It's not who I am and especially not who I want to be, so I will promise to do better again. And I don't want to make any excuses like the police thing etc, while these things suck work was always something that helped me wind down and distract from these things. There is also the Steam demo I wanted to release and other stuff I wanted to do related to My New Memories, that I haven't done at all yet. So I promise to do better and be more like I used to be, especially in terms of release cycles and stuff. Like I said, I know my situation right now is not really good but work is the one thing that always helped with it.
I think I said that this prequel day is gonna explain a lot of things the MC experienced in the main game already, and with Katharina I have such a good character to do some of those. Todays render is her in the changing area of the pool and yes, this is the men changing area, so Katharina is doing something that totally is in character for her. This little scene only occurs if you decided to pursue her, of course, but I can highly recommend to "go for her". I think I already said last week that during this event, the MCs love for a sauna will start to happen, which will ultimately lead to the funny event you had in Chapter 3 with Lina. In the prequel you're going to be in the sauna with two other women though and of them will be a character that is also in the main game already ( which basically limits it to Sabrina and Bethany haha ). The whole afternoon in the pool will be more of a bonding experience with Lea as well, since they think back to other times they were there when they were younger. All in all a good event that will hopefully be fun for people that know the main game and for people that have zero clues about My New Memories.
Speaking about the main game, I didn't really do much for it sadly. I wanted to make a cute event in the evening with Anna but kinda lost motivation mid way, maybe because I pictured the renders I made with her and then realised I can't really do them yet. It's hard to explain how it feels to not have access to these characters for almost a year now, to something I created "with my own hands" and that brought so much joy to me and all of you amazing people. But I'm distracting again. Still, I will do my best to add some nice touches to this event, especially since Anna is my personal favorite character.
I also actually did some work on My New Family 2 already. I'm currently working on a new main menu design, I want it to be something unique and interesting like I did for My New Memories, while keeping the tradition that the background changes with each update. It's still kinda difficult for me to imagine how the characters will look in MNF2 and I think my plan for the first release is to slowly but surely show all the new girls that came into the household ( mainly to not overwhelm players ). So, think of your regular mornings with Lucy just... That it's not Lucy but someone that strangely enough, looks very similar to her. I don't want to bombard you with new names but all of the new household members will eventually be shown or talked about during the first release.
And I think that's it for now. On August 31st I will be celebrating the 5 year anniversary of My New Family and me starting out as a adult visual dev, which means another long personal post about the experiences I made last year. Most of them were bad, of course, but I will make this post more positive then negative. Thank you guys for your continous support and sorry again for the delay regarding the prequel. I'll do my best to make it up to you with a hopefully good release! Stay awesome!

Definitely grats on the upcoming 5 years, and thank you for sticking with this for so long. I know it is a lot of work and isn't always appreciated, or you may not necessarily always feel driven to continue. For someone who found MNF during a rough time, I want you to know I appreciate your continued efforts, especially considering current circumstances.

Pretty sure you got it confused there. There were two court cases, one where I'm the victim/witness, this one was "over" by the end of may. Then there is the court case against me, which hasn't even been opened yet. They already copied my ssds but the police woman doesn't want to give me one of my ssds back ( the one that purely contains daz3d files for rendering ) because she thinks some of the characters are not "okay", so she would potentially give me back illegal material. No lawyer in the world can do anything about it besides waiting for the state attorney to either agree with her, or say no, those are fine. The state attorney still didn't reply, though, and they tend to take their time when it's about stuff like that, purely because the police woman is trying to put me off as some kind of creep now.

I would really like to see chapter 4 of MNM sooner rather than later, its been a huge amount of time in anticipation of it. Also by the sound of the amount of work you have done for chapter 4 it should be bigger than all of chapters 1-3 lol. The longer this thing goes on the more concerned I am we will never see a chapter 4. They shouldn't be keeping your equipment this long, especially since you've been to court etc. They copy the contents of your ssd's...so why not give them back to you? Lawyers love to drag cases on and on, because the longer a case takes the more the more they get paid. Your lawyer sounds too fishy with what you've said over the past year.
