Another week, another progress update! Sorry, a little later than usual today!
Let's jump right into the games!
I'm making some good progress on the next prequel Chapter again and I'm still amazed by the fact that so many of you amazing people want more and frequent chapters for it. Really, I didn't expect this when I first started making the prequel, so seeing you guys enjoying it so much is a huge relief. Todays render is Jackie, sitting in the living room and talking to the MC. Of course he had to tell her about the "nuke" that Rei dropped, and she also has some good advice regarding the whole situation. Like I said last week, the MC is not the super confident Man he is in the main game ( or rather, which he will be in the main game again now that he got his memories back ), so he's scared to mess things up with Rei when he mentions what this reveal did to him. Especially since he doesn't know why Anna never mentioned the MC, Sabrina and the others. Maybe talking about it hurt her too much? Or she wanted to let Rei see for herself if she can spot them. It would make sense, right? Anna not being worried that her cousin ends up in the same city, not even mentioning that the love of her life is living there and literally going to the same uni as Rei. There has to be a reason for that and I think with time, we will find out what it is. I can promise you it's not something bad, but it's also the same thing why the MC never mentioned Anna towards Rei ( or towards Amelie later on ).
Okay, let's talk about the main game. I got an idea on a certain site to release a small "snippet" to Chapter 4, let's say, you have a scene with Sabrina alone in her apartment where you talk about this and that, maybe mention the accident and what happened in the hospital... And then they start to talk about something that happened in the past. Between the two of them. Maybe something lewd, even. And then I could transition this scene into part of the prequel, giving you a glimpse of something you might see in Chapter 2. I think you know where I'm going with this. You basically have current Sabrina and the MC having a talk, then they talk about something they did in the past and it intertwines both games. What do you guys think about that? It would be something you will see in Chapter 4 again once it releases, and I won't make it as painful in terms of stuff they talk about regarding Anna. Let's say this would last 10-15 minutes... Would you guys like that? A small refresher with Sabrina and then a transition into the prequel, including a bit of lewdness. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! I know that Chapter 4 is basically the biggest hype right now, so this would be a very very small snippet of what you can expect there. Like I said, share your thoughts in the comments or send me a DM etc!
And I think that's it for now. Not much to report regarding My New Family 2, I kinda hit a frustrating wall there with character creation again ( I will get over it tonight, don't worry ). Please tell me what you guys think about the idea I posted above! And if anything comes up I'll let you guys know ( I'm still waiting for my lawyer, he should come back to me soon with an update on the case, since he requested an update on the case files in december 2024 ). I think that if you like the idea and think it would be good to do it, do it as you said. It won't be a very long scene, 10 to 15 minutes, and since everything ends at the moment when she wakes up, a flashback of her past wouldn't be bad at all from my point of view. the truth is MnM is among my favorite games of this format and look, I have already downloaded and translated into Spanish like 400 to play since I got hooked on these types of games since the year before last and I think MnM is among the first ones I downloaded and it is one of the games that got me hooked on these games along with MnF lucy is the one to blame for me getting into these games hahaha XD I hope someday to see more characters like her in your games π it's not that I'm a furry π (insert purple pony meme here π€£) but of all the characters in the games I played I would say that lucy is in the TOP 1 π the girls with cat ears and tails are the best in the world π€€π€€ π€£π€£π€£

First, I bought it on Steam. Second, I stated that I didn't think he needed to do anything. And third, the prequel is LITTERALLY a stop-gap that has become more, so while it's clearly going to continue and probably even beyond the point K7 can work on MNM again, it's still a secondary product to both MNM and MNF2 when that gets off the ground. So no, I don't think there would be anything wrong with including a portion of it in the main game as a flashback of some sort, nor do I have any preconceived expectations of how big Beginnings is going to be. It may be done after a second chapter, or it may end of as long as MNM and be a third concurrent game K7 is making, although I seriously doubt that will be the case. Either way, you took my light-hearted comment out behind the shed for no reason, and you seem to have missed the overall point of the main post entirely. You might want to give it a closer read, or check out the events that caused the post to be made in the first place. K7 isn't planning to change his overall style of game development, nor the average size of his releases ... this is literally a reaction to a unique situation and will have passed it's expiration date soon enough.

Your either forgetting something here or you don't know. This prequel is sold on steam and so is the main game. You can't just take the prequel people paid for and do that. That would be wrong. On top of the fact the prequel is going to fairly big in scope as it is.

I'd say concentrate on making entire chapters of this prequel and not small little parts. It doesn't really matter how long you take, I mean if it did you'd have no subscribers. I play other games where the developers take a long time for example naughty road takes more than 12 months for each chapter but they are huge. Not a fan of the graphics, but the story is wonderful. It wouldn't have to take a year to release a chapter, naughty road is a solo / single developer. You used to turn out both MNF chapters and eventually of course the main game chapters. If those chapters where a lot bigger, people definitely wouldn't mind if you did and it makes sense too. If it takes 12 or 24 months or longer for you to get your things back, your still working on your prequel full time. I know also you want to do something with MNF 2, but I personally think you should concentrate on bigger chapters, regardless of time it takes, its just my opinion, it really doesn't matter. Please no snippets.

Seeing how that community reacted to the "remove the abandoned tag" updates of summertime saga I'd honestly accept the tag and keep working on what you are. It has been 18 months since the last release of MnM so that's why it's been flagged as it has. While it's true that you won't get more new subscribers from there with the tag, I honestly don't know what the conversion rate is in the first place.

It's one way around that annoying situation, but I agree it's not necessary for those that are paying attention, and it might bring more wackos out of the woodworks to complain. On the other hand, I'm all for sticking it to the mods! ;-) You could even call it chapter 3.5: Beginnings

You don't need to release a snippet because of a tag on 'that' website. We all know why there hasn't been an update and, again, we will all wait patiently for that time.

I'd say do what ever you feel is right for the story, without getting hung up on what some site says (those in the know understand how those tags work anyway).
