Hey Natalie. Have you read the Last Psychiatrist Blog? Particularly this post about the Myth of Narcissus and Echo. <a href="https://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2012/10/the_story_of_narcissus.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2012/10/the_story_of_narcissus.html</a> They argue that the generational affliction is narcissism and that we're all afflicted by it. One could argue that a narcissist's inability to attain happiness comes down to his inability to experience love. And that, his inability to experience love, in turn, comes down to his basic contempt for those who would attempt to love him. He's so obsessed with loathing himself that he doesn't believe that anyone could ever love him and particularly mistrusts them. Do you think Incels, and losers on the internet are, at their base level, narcissists? Have you read Christopher Lasch?
