Just a quick update post! My channel has grown exponentially in 2018, and I really can't thank every one of you enough for contributing to the channel's success. Reflecting on the past year I'm at a loss for words to describe how lucky I feel to be able to do this so just... thank you thank you thank you! ๐๐๐
My goal as stated on this page is to make 12 videos per year. In 2018 I made 10. I work on these about as much as it's physically possible for me to work, so it looks like that's just what I can do at maximum productivity. I was hoping to have the new video out by today, but since I started work on it it's grown in size till the point where it's now likely to be my longest video. So the upside is you'll be getting nearly 50 minutes of content. That should be out in about a week.
My long-term plan is probably to switch the pledge system back to per-video (so you only pay me when I release a video). That will amount to a bit less funding for me (I'd probably do 8 videos a year or so with that system), but also I'll be able to relax a little more and have more of a life, something I imagine wanting at some point.
But for now I'm going to leave it per-month. I'm going to keep the goal of 12 videos per year, even if I don't quite make it. I like the fire under meโfor now.
As soon as the next video is out I will record some new video commentaries. Thanks for your patience waiting for me to get those out.

I just joined, so ignoring my input is completely understandable. I was so moved by your most recent video, I joined at a level I can't really maintain monthly. I will stick around at a lower monthly pledged amount I can maintain and will likely give more when I'm greatly moved by a piece. I say stick to monthly payments and continue being honest about planned production time, when it changes, and how the work is impacting you. I think 8-12 pieces a year is more than reasonable. Don't burn yourself out. Some of the work you're doing has to take a huge emotional toll. Take time to recharge Consider taking on some staff who can help with various aspects of your production process. If you want to grow in certain directions and maintain healthy habits, doing most all of it yourself might not continue to be possible. ๐๐๐๐
Happy to pay per month for not-quite-every-month content. I consider it like union fees, paying for something greater than me that I may need to call on every now and then.
