New Plan: November Tangent

As you know, I’ve been working on a major main channel video. “Giving birth” to this project requires weeks on end of 12-hour workdays. Since I posted about the election on Saturday, I’ve been trying to get back into the rhythm of it, but the reality is that I’m still too depressed and distracted to sustain the level of focus needed to finish the video by my intended deadline (December).
So, the simplest solution is for me to just make a Tangent this month, and then return to the main channel video in December, by which point I’ll hopefully have pulled myself together. Working on a Tangent for the next couple weeks should keep me busy enough that I don’t have time to spiral, but not so busy that I get burned out. And you’ll get some content from me sooner this way.
I’ve just made a separate post for $15+ patrons to vote on the Tangent topic. That poll will only be open for a couple days so I can get to work on the Tangent ASAP.

We live in a world where tens of millions of cis men are taking steroids and popping penis pills and tens of millions of women are getting breast enlargements, nose jobs and face lifts. Literally every member of Trump’s family and every host on Fox News is actively trans-ending the body they believe God gave them to transition themselves to become as masculine or feminine as they believe they have a legal right to be. In every case, using the same exact drugs and surgeries to transition themselves as they criticize and want banned for others. Motivated also by psychological factors that they view as healthy in themselves while deeming as a mental disorder in others. The hypocrisy of high heeled boot wearing self proclaimed “cowboys” calling anyone else “mentally ill” for wanting to embrace their own masculine or feminine nature is epic in its blindness. Moving forward politically will require a careful plan to point out these ironies and to point out the importance for every human being to possess a full toolbox of both masculine and feminine qualities because to only possess half is to live half a life. Every biological woman should possess the confidence and skills to lead a team at work and every biological male should possess the ability to feed a baby and nurture a child. The cowboy comparison is important because it aligns with a fundamental principle of American freedom that critics claim to embrace. The freedom to wear high heels and a pretty hat to present as a lady or a cowboy - and the importance of possessing a full toolbox of masculine and feminine qualities - are rights, freedoms and privileges that our country exists to protect. While things look bad politically, it’s important to remember that at least close to a majority appreciate, value and embrace human diversity. The laws that free employers to discriminate against employees they deem weird also free employers to discriminate against employees they deem to be intolerant. Whatever legal protections are lost become moot to the degree that liberal Americans win the more essential culture war. Over this next 4 years I’m hoping Natalie will grow in public stature as a social commentator on issues beyond gender. The most valuable role she can play right now is for the world to simply see and hear an intelligent, rational trans person out in the public eye. The world needs to regularly see a few trans people besides playing drug addicted sex workers on cop shows or arguing about issues like bathrooms and sports chosen specifically to divide supporters.
