Mod-It

At this point you can convert any LE mod to SE. In LE I ran with 255 with 100's of merged mods at 30 - 40 fps tops. In SE I have over 900 plugins, most of which are ESL files and run 40 -60 with 4-8k (8 being skins) textures. Only thing LE has over SE atm is Parallax and it just needs to be patched, but noone is up for the job atm. I made the jump over a year ago and my skyrim builds run WAY smoother. Just saying.

Man, please don't do that! SSE will never have as much mods as the original! I'm really wanted to play SSE, but never were able because it's not have mods that i need...

Amy Rose

also need to mentioned that those updates are ONLY updates for their Creation Club!!! nothing in the game get updated

Amy Rose

yeah, and every update break those plugins.

Amy Rose

due to the fxxking Bethesda's update schedule,I'm not moving to SSE(their updates already made lot's of problem at my fallout 4,each time they update and my game goes to a completely break down and I need to update at least F4SE,Mod Configuration Menu, Crafting Highlight Fix and In-game ESP Explorer)

MuffledAI

Thank you, been waiting for you to switch to SSE, now SSE has open-sourced HDT SMP with more bug fixes, performance improvements in the future, SSE's future is even brighter.

So you guys still thought sse is better? Do you know how many mods will be outdated if they don't update at the same time? I don't know how the sse is, but some of the modders in fallout 4 haven't updated their mods (they definitely need f4se to work) for more than half a year.

Sirbadbootay

would it be too much to release an LE version then an SE version?

Harry2135

yep I'll do that one by one.

Harry, would u convert ur old mod to SSE version?

Kaleidus

Well it was sad notice for me, thanks for everyrhing Good luck

Harry2135

I'll try :)

Harry2135

I'm not sure yet. I can only tell you if I can or not after having a look CBBE or UUNP SSE carefully.

Harry2135

Static meshes would be simple to convert between LE and SE but the skinned meshes like outfit mods that's a different story. you may have to re-skin the meshes with LE reference bodies all over again if they have different bone weights. Speaking of skinning it could be easy or hard depending on how complex the meshes are. The fact is that I haven't really look into the reference bodies for SSE so If I can find a way to convert them simply I might be able to provide LE version too.

I use this by the way https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316/?tab=files

Damian MacLagan

could you at least still make UUNP versions so I can use my conversions tools?

zerovii

Hmm,, im tempting move to SE but still the Physic, i cant do without physic, like immersion breaking. i hope the SKSESE stable. End oh yeah the clam of skyrim body just good in LE.

jukist

wa! se!

DenyingBody

Whats with all the hate for SE? I've played LE for years and could never fix all the issues with it no matter how hard I tried and how many patch mods I installed. SE has had rarely any problems for me, and not to mention way better performance. Anyway, you've got my vote Harry.

Yeti_1971

I won't touch SE. My money will go elsewhere

Yes, it works both ways.

Will you be able to port the old mods to SE?

noooooooooooooo :'( farewell my lord

Nikita Sivko

You can move your inis with almost no drawback to SE. SE is more stable and allows for more mods at the same time. The only bad part is that it does not fully support parralax and "true" subsurface scattering . All other things work

Nikita Sivko

SE became super reliable and most of the stuff is working especially since latest CBBE SMP, XM32 and Race Menu updates. Welcome to SE Henry:)

Natural Aura

I'm playing on LE, so I can understand the frustration others feel about this. HOWEVER, despite having hundreds of mods installed and custom inis and what have you, I've been considering moving to SE. So I got but one question. Is the switch worth it? Cause I've been on the fence about it...

Mark

Can’t you port se mods over to le?

On the Nexus, SE had 131 mods this week, LE had 70. According to SteamCharts, SE had a 24h peak player count of 15,704, LE had 11,293. As far as I can tell, SE is more popular

Zero.TheTechnician

GREAT CHOICE SE is great.

laenes

Why such a decision is the LE version more popular than SE ... it is a little inappropriate

Teetara

Hell no

Jeffrey N Williams

To Alter Native, can you port form SE to LE? I've always wondered about that.

You can port mods (and .esps as well I think) with a single click using nifconverter, so I don't see a problem offering both versions without too much trouble. Even my Karlov Manor mod with hundreds of meshes and textures was a single click to convert (and resaving it in the CK as the .esp was much more complex). I know it's extra work, but you're already putting the vast majority of work in creating the outfits so converting them to LE or SE is really just a question of minutes.

Congrats to that decision! I think it's a very good one.
