My decision and SE stuffs
🕑 Added 2020-01-22 01:52:39 +0000 UTCI've done setting up my SSE and my first impression of SE was WoW. There are a lot more mods available now compared to 2 years ago when I played SE first time thanks to SKSE64. After setting up the basic stuffs I started to check what the differences are between LE and SE.
First of all, my favorite body all time CBBE.
It has more polygons to look less blocky than old CBBE and also more body morphs (=sliders) which means good for you, not for me (more to work lol). anyways I found most of sliders were from oldrim and one particular slider (called old baseshape) allows to convert new SE body shape to old shape so I converted and port it back to LE and then compared both.
Unfortunately the 'old baseshape' slider didn't give a good result. Basically lower back and butt area are not matched well but that's fine since it's not hard to sculpt SE body almost same as LE body shape. Real issue was that other than those areas some sliders didn't give the same result so I have to make each version of bodyslide from the beginning if I support both :(
One of the weird things I noticed was that vertex orders were changed somehow after the model was imported and exported from 3D tools like blender or 3ds max. As a user you might be able to ignore that but as a modder this cannot be ignored. What if I have to modify body using 3D tools and make bodyslide based on the modified body? This would result like this.
So I made vertex orders stay the same by simply putting the body models in and out of 3d tool and rebuilt the entire sliders based on that like this.
BTW I uploaded the fixed version of CBBE SE, CBBE 3BBB and BHUNP SE in WORKSHOP -> modding-resources in Discord.
As for the reference model for the future SE mods, I might have to choose one of the CBBE variants which are CBBE SE, CBBE SMP and CBBE 3BBB. After I tested all 3 CBBEs I was quite impressed by '3BBB amazing'. That gives not only full package (if you know what I mean) also an option to choose one of physics engines like CBPC or SMP IN GAME. so you can change CBPC to SMP or vice versa without turning off the game. As you guessed already 'SE CBBE 3BBB Amazing body' is my choice.
Let's talk about UUNP.
Only one I could find for SE version of UUNP was BHUNP. I don't know why it's called like that but thankfully that offers LE version as well. Similar to CBBE 3BBB BHUNP also gives the 3BBB feature. Even though that dosen't give the option to choose physics engines in game like CBBE 3BBB I found the option from CBBE 3BBB also work well with BHUNP.
The real good thing about BHUNP was that not like CBBE SE the body shape was exactly same as UUNP and almost all sliders were compatible with UUNP sliders as well so I can convert things by simply running the optimizer.
Apart from that BHUNP is not polished well enough IMAO. The models not only have a lot of unnecessary bones but also the 'Hands' are not affected by sliders.
As you can see morphs for the hands are stored in *.bsd which is from UUNP for oldrim. so one possible solution would be to download LE version of bodyslide and find and copy all the bsd files starting with 'Hands' and then paste them into "CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData\BHUNP 3BBB"
I also noticed that there're small gaps around between body and hands.
It's barely noticeable though. I uploaded fixed version in WORKSHOP -> modding-resources in Discord.
Anyways as no other options available for SE version of UUNP BHUNP would be my choice for the reference model.
So what now? Are you supporting both or what?
Well if you allow me one condition I can support both. Let me reduce to support UUNP sliders. IMO UUNP has unnecessarily many sliders and to be honest some sliders give you horrible look however I spend a lot of time, I mean A LOT, for the sliders. So I think 6 sliders would be enough for UUNP. Those are
- 7B High
- 7B Cleavage High
- UNP High
- UNPB High
- Demonfet High
- Top Model High
Don't get me wrong. Outfits will be conformed for all sliders so even if you choose other sliders I don't support the outfit still fits the body shapes you choose. What I mean by supporting sliders or not is like this.
I'll fix those red circle areas to look as smooth as possible for the sliders I support. and I'll ignore those for other sliders I don't support. Also small clippings might happen for the sliders I don't support.
TL;DR
I will support both SE and LE. Supported body types are
SE
- SE CBBE 3BBB Amazing body
- BHUNP 3BBB SE (7B High, 7B Cleavage High, UNP High, UNPB High, Demonfet High and Top Model High only)
LE
- CBBE HDT
- UUNP HDT (7B High, 7B Cleavage High, UNP High, UNPB High, Demonfet High and Top Model High only)
- BHUNP 3BBB LE (7B High, 7B Cleavage High, UNP High, UNPB High, Demonfet High and Top Model High only)

as a rule in the sliders for the bodyshapes in game i actually dont use those. i mainly use the ones below it to customize the body from the ground up rather than use a base bodyshape slider to alter the whole body. so anything that names an actual body type and not a body part i dont actually use. i forget which order comes first down the list but at the point where the sliders start altering just the breasts i think is the first ones is where i start using in game sliders.the ones above those i find warps the body oddly.

What do I think? I think hearing you're going to be supporting outfits for CBBE 3BBB Amazing is the best news I've had since I started building out an SE game - still in progress, by the way. If you port your older outfits I may actually dance a jig in my living room. You have made some of the best armours and outfits I've ever seen. Thank you.

Can you support 7b oppai and or unpb oppai for BHUNP? I love using those sliders of presets "Dangerous Oppai" by wnisewond is my fave preset ever to use.

And do you think you can start by converting your old mod to SE? i love CBBE 3bbb AMAzing but at the moment there is none of outfit that converting into 3bbb AMAzing, i hope you can do it :D

Obviously I am a BHUNP user, so supporting that is a big plus for me... I am not sure how the slider support issue effect me I use a slider set called Zoe Sprinter Body I guess I could check with sliders it uses... in fact I'll do that now and report back!!! :)

BHUNP stands for Baka Haeun UNP (it is made by BakaFactory). It is currently under heavy development so if you have a chance you may want to drop him a DM in LL (he is FactoryClose there) with your issues. I forget the reason for all the new bones, he has a really good reason, and i think he took over XPMSE just to support that.

Thank you for supporting both. I would play SE but I have several hundred mashups for LE and I'd hate to start all over for SE.

I respect your decision. I am currently using a modified uunp with chbp and smp bodytype for my current se playthru. I will probably be switching to CBBE next playthru.

I think that is fine, honestly I see a few people use UNP but let's be real most of the armors are CBBE first and UUNP second. Loverslab is all CBBE and ever since SMP became a big thing a few months ago CBBE has just taken over the nexus. The only other big armor person I can think of that is UNP only is DeserterX and all of his stuff is coverted to CBBE with physics within a day or 2. Good call stoked to see some SSE stuff soon!
