Chapter 35
It was still bright out when I emerged from the basement, tugging at my dress. I have to admit that diaper made my butt look pretty good under it, except for the crinkling part. Is that a weird thing to say? I had been stuck in this madhouse for so long that I couldn’t tell what was normal anymore.
I still remembered being horrified at the mere suggestion that I would be putting on bedwetter training pants. Can you imagine?
I was mortified at the thought that I would wear Pull-Ups at night, under my pajamas, alone in my room. It sure seemed embarrassing at the time for a 19 year old, even under the safety of my covers.
And now? I was literally walking around in a diaper and a short dress that could barely hide it. My backside was three times its normal size and I could hear the plastic rustling as my thighs brushed against it. I even smelled like baby powder… and all I could think of was ‘’at least it makes my butt look good’’.
At this point however, I no longer cared. I could’ve taken off my dress and walked around in just a diaper, I had a feeling no one would bat an eye. As if they all expected it from me anyway. ‘’Ashley’s a bedwetter anyway.’’ ‘’Ashley has accidents sometimes, that’s why she’s in Pull-Ups’’ ‘’Ashley woke up from her nap, she hasn’t changed out of her nighttime diaper yet’’, ‘’Is she still dry? Well let’s not waste a clean diaper, we’re gonna put her in a new one tonight either way.’’
So many possible justifications to normalize the fact that I was effectively being treated as an adult toddler. Diapered and checked. Monitored and changed. Fed and put down for naps.
But not for long. I was planning my escape and I was going out with a bang.
I made sure no one could see me when I sneaked out on the front porch and grabbed what James had left for me in the mailbox before sliding the package in my back pocket.
He hadn’t asked too many questions, but he was certainly curious of what I would do with a such a thing. Revenge is like a wet diaper... It feels better when it’s hot.
When I came back in the house, my cousin Nancy was setting up the dinner table. She smiled when she saw me walk across the room. Her sister Joyce waved at me with a big smile on her face, a glass of wine in her hand. ‘’Where have you been?!’’ She cried. Clueless as usual. Her husband said a brief ‘hi’ while passing me by with his hands full of the kids’ finished plates.
If I had previously come to the conclusion that my whole family expected me to be a diaper-dependant babbling baby at this point, I was now starting to see that it wasn’t the case for all of them.
The truth was, they simply didn’t care. They didn’t think about me that much. Most of them didn’t even realize I had been treated like a toddler this whole time.
This almost made it seem unreal to me. Outside of a small handful of people, no one actually knew I had been wetting the bed, wearing Pull-Ups everyday and forced to use them. Humiliated and bullied back into oversized baby diapers.
I was happy as a clam at high water as far as they were concerned. Could I blame them? What did I know of them after all? I had been focused on my predicament this whole time… I didn’t even know the name of Joyce’s husband. They could’ve been fighting the whole time, getting a divorce and I wouldn’t have been aware of it either.
As I was putting things into perspective, a firm pat on my butt gave me a reality check.
‘’So she was serious… no more Pull-Ups. How does it feel?’’
I turned around to look at Casey in the eye.
Ashley: Why are you still here?
Casey: The day’s not done yet, your aunt invited me for dinner with you guys. Besides, now that you’re in diapers full-time, I don’t expect you’re gonna use the bathroom much. You might need a change.
Ashley: I won’t, I just went… on Frankie.
I don’t know why I was telling her that. Somehow it felt more embarrassing for Frankie then for me. She already saw me wet myself, she might as well know the brat had gotten herself wet too.
Casey: No way!! That’s the funniest, most disgusting thing I’ve heard… well maybe not today, but surely in the last hour. How did she take it?
Ashley: Rather well, come to think of it. Where is she now?
Casey: She’s watching over the kids. You know what’s funny? I went to check her Pull-Up earlier, when you were taking a nap. I was just bored and I thought if I’m getting paid to be a babysitter to a big baby, I should be checking all the padded butts. You should’ve seen her face when I crept up on her and slipped my hand under her dress to touch her butt. She did not like it one bit. She was furious, actually. Said she was only wearing Pull-Ups because of you and she would never use them. I believe her, I just thought it was hilarious.
Ashley : Yeah that’s funny.
Casey: Your family is one weird bunch, but it’s kind of interesting to witness in my position.
She goes around touching people’s butts and we’re the weird ones? Still it would’ve enjoyed watching the little brat’s face turn beet red as the babysitter checked her underwear to remind her what those training pants were meant for.
Casey kept talking about what a bizarre job it was to take care of us, but as happy as I was to hear that Frankie got the treatment she deserved, I was only half-listening to her. I needed to keep my plan in mind. I had to keep focused and get the timing right. I was sick of waiting around and sick of pretending. I wanted to make them pay for what they had done to me. I wanted them to feel helpless as I had felt and I wanted to see this whole house burn.
I needed to get closer to the kitchen, that’s where it would happen if I didn’t want to raise any suspicions. James had instructions to wait for me outside once it would be done.
I was nervous. The next action I was about to take would have grave repercussions on my family and our relationship, but I no longer cared.
I was ready to say goodbye to this unfortunate part of my life and I wanted to leave with a bang, so I paced myself and headed towards the kitchen to plant the bomb.

I’d love one more scene where Jacob puts Ashley in pull-ups...

I am excited to see where it ends and I am personally rooting for Ashley as I tend to when I get to know characters. I just hope it’s not one of those wel thought out plans foiled for no real reason, but if the next is the final chapter I’m inclined to trust it won’t just end abruptly like many well started stories I’ve read. Or like “chasing Emily” which I didn’t like how that ended. Keep up the good work!
Assuming the bomb is literal (After re-reading the chapters leading up to this, I almost entirely don't), you're saying you would be okay with Ashley blowing the house and everyone in it up? You would like that as the ending. Really. I find that hard to believe. @Allerted I probably should have had more faith in you, Allerted and that hot take was off just one read with the rest of the context a little bit fragmented in my memory. I do believe the story will come to a satisfactory end but @Adam, if you are seriously going to take my first comment to heart about a literal murder that does not fit her character or the tone of this narrative and your response to that is to say, "No stay the course and blow em up", the issue, I think lies with you.
Need the next part as soon as possible, don't listen to storytime, just keep writing the story your way.
This is... not the end I was hoping for... I hope by "bomb" you mean laxative and not that Ashley is literally going to murder people... It's uhh... QUITE the cliffhanger...
