Im glad Woolie brought up "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" cuz that was my entire reason for picking Verso's ending. Not just cuz painted Verso is suffering, but because the last remnants of the original Verso would be suffering as well. A utopia built upon the suffering of one is no paradise.

I agree with John on Verso ending completely. I think keeping this comathose version of Verso who can't move on alive is just cruel. Letting Maelle stay there is kind of letting an addict indulge in their addiction.

I believe in the Maelle ending but Verso being made to play the piano for everyone reminded me of Michael Jordan being forced to be dunked on for all eternity on Moron Mountain.

Oh great now we know for sure John is a monster. If God came down and said "sorry John, you're fake" he'd be ok with letting the planet blow up because all of humanity as we know it and all our lived experience don't matter anymore. John can make the choice by himself to let everyone die.

This might be anti-hot take but i believe the reason for the way endings work is that there is no good ending, In both someone has to loose something.
