The future of life is...
🕑 Added 2024-02-07 22:55:49 +0000 UTCHere we are, guys, at the famous New Life verdict that will not only decide his situation, but also that of much else in the game.
First though, I'll answer a few questions that have cropped up from the various feedbacks.
One of these is the lack of connection with the story, which is easily explained by the fact that back in November it was already said that this test would not be the final version in which Priscilla's intervention is needed, but just a test to see the general reaction of the players.
Another factor is that it does not seem to be a real pregnancy or that it would have the absorption of the 'fetus' to start the transformation.
I will try to explain very briefly why this is not the case, I could limit myself by simply saying that 'it's a fantasy game', there doesn't have to be a normal pregnancy, but this would not be the real explanation.
Quite simply, as I have imagined it, what happens is that the body of the girls acts as a catalyst to accumulate the ritual within them, inserted into this test as a potion, and then forming a crystall that grows and merges with the girl herself, from this the pregnancy and the new life.
Some people don't like the fact that Izanami after taking the potion looks like an aroused savage, well this is more complicated than it sounds, as in the final version the ritual brings out a specific aspect of a girl which differs for each girl, in this case I used Iza's uncontrollable arousal to show a possible result, it is not certain that all girls will react in the same way.
That said, let us address the final outcome of this experience, and the verdict is... that New Life is... a nothingness that tends towards failure, unfortunately.
I'll try to explain myself better, to evaluate the feature's reactions I took into consideration numerous factors, including:
- Feedback received on all platforms.
- Increase/Decrease in support.
- Response old and new players.
- Entry of new players.
- Number of interactions on the game during the month.
- Diffusion of the game during the trial period.
- Talks about it outside the normal talk venues.
- and more...
When the most expected, most important, most work-intensive feature produces almost nothing, then it is problematic.
As far as feedback is concerned, counting all social platforms together, we did not even reach 1% feedback about the feature, and it was hardly talked about anywhere except during the first week of release.
Because of this, I will most likely have to change the future approach of several things.
As for New Life, it will be put aside for the time being, both for the story reasons and for some secondary elements for its improvement.
For the game in general, from now on to improve many things I have decided that:
The added features will be mainly complete, no more half tests or stuff like that, but complete bases to be expanded.
I will mainly focus on producing more events and expanding the current game world, i.e. exploit what is already there in game and make it the best possible, very simple example is the sandbox part to start implementing properly to adding things to do in each game environment.
Don't be sad about New Life, it's not like it was cancelled, I only feel bad about it since I expected more reactions from the players, it was a simple test, probably more will come that will catch the interest of the players by a lot, otherwise I can tell you that my task for this year will be to refine the experience as much as possible and make the game world full of things to do, between events and fun with the girls.

The game Corrupted Kingdoms got banned for having kids in it. So its better this way to having new life in this way. I like this feature.

Totally get the decision, I'm a little bummed out but I get that for the health/growth of the game this wasn't having the necessary impact. Excited to see what's coming up.

Totally understand. Really liked the concept and what I saw. Really liked the idea of seeing the girls evolve too and not just the MC as well. But in practice it was a bit underwhelming. I however, don't see that as a total loss. Showed a lot of what will probably be a pretty great future for the game and Love ya for it. As always keep up the great work!

Sad to hear, but honestly, you might have dodged a bullet with the decision as well. I am sure you are aware of what happened to TheArcadean with CK (despite there wasn't even a direct connection). Even if the outcome would have been explained and portrayed different, it might have been a slippery slope when... "someone" decides that rules change "again" and for whatever reason would have to be made even more restrictive. And I really wouldn't wish for you to experience similiar bumps in the road. I really hope that you can still take something useful from the attempt, even if it will not happen in this form, and/or for now.

I think its a great idea (new life) but there just wasn't much to do/test. Everything appeared to work as intended. Didn't really have anything to say about it. I think there's a ton of potential for it and how it could fit into the story (like how the need to get stronger to help fight better). Just keep on keeping on. π

Well, I admit I, for one, am sad. I enjoyed what we had of New Life, and as I mentioned in my own comments I probably wouldn't have even landed on this game in the first place were it not for the promise of "pregnancy" content (admittedly, I do feel better having seen your explanation for why the "pregnancy" played out as it did--certainly makes more sense than anything I'd imagined). That said: a) I have enjoyed the game up to this point and will probably be happy to continue it in whatever form it takes; and b) I am keenly aware, even as one with no programming background or skill, that New Life would indeed have been a massive undertaking to pull off correctly, or even half-assedly, and I can fully understand why you'd table it if it got middling support (as to it getting such mediocre reaction, though, come on people). I REALLY hope we haven't seen the last of Izanami's baby bump in-game, and I continue to hope we'll see other characters' as well, but pausing this content while focusing elsewhere makes sense, and I applaud you for making the effort in the first place. Do what works for you to make the best game possible, and I'll enjoy it while looking forward to the day you feel ready to come back to this particular idea.

Well that it would be paused was already decided, the test was unique to 0.85, for the full version and future additions we wait for the progress of the main story.

Damn sucks that New life is being put on hold but I understand the decision well I hope to see it again at some point. In the mean time though I look forward to the next builds!
