This episode is what elevated the series from a CW show to a real work of art in television, when you realize everything over the course of the first 3 seasons has been leading to that final ending shot, everything clicks together and it becomes a masterpiece. The way this episode was shot also felt more like an indie film and the writing was excellent. It was hard to top the season 1 finale with that Katherine reveal, but they did it here. Fantastic reaction as always, onto season 4!

Great reaction to the season finale. The good thing for you is you don’t have to wait 5 months to find out what is going to be happening next. It was killer when waiting the summer to find out what happens next in the vampire diaries when it was originally airing.

My fav finale until now in TVD. The parallel of Elena drowning now vs her past experience with her parents was shot so well here it looked amazing but at the same time it's so so heartbreaking to see specially how the interaction she had with her dad it's so heartbreaking.
