Man these Dr. Phil videos are getting hard to sit through. The way he’s so non empathetic to the people that come on his show with genuine issues is so awful. He always has this condescending air about him that just makes it seem more like he’s hosting a circus to make fun of people rather than helping them solve issues. He has this preconceived notion about how certain behavior should be expected from people. The minute a participant has any comment or action that challenges his already constructed narrative he becomes super defensive, as if it is a personally attack. I know he’s not a real doctor and is in no way qualified as a mental health professional, but even on a human level he is lacking.

I'm sure you've been told about this or already done so on your own, but Behind the Bastards has an incredible episode on Dr. Phil that is definitely worth a listen if you're interested in learning more about him. He is truly fascinating and infuriating.
