I appreciate your point about the emotional distance between the characters in Harry Potter, and the tragedy in Martin’s work vs Tolkien’s I never got into Harry Potter as a tween, I thought the characters were just… off, somehow, but one of the kids I babysit is into them so I have read a LOT from them to him, and I’m kind of shocked how cool or even cold the characters are to eachother, and the en do f your video helps put that in even greater focus

Lovely video, thanks. I'd forgotten the jarring stuff that really took me out of the films: 300 v 10,000 ? Why is Legolas referring to Spartans? Why are there so few humans? How is this a sustainable population? Why do they make a thing about women being trained to fight and yet they end up all hiding in a cave? They will all be slaughtered anyway?! The ridiculous ghost army winning the battle in 10 seconds flat 😫
