Ha, yeah, what I'm saying is, in the final video, which is uploading now, I did, in fact, change it to say "white people."

Thanks for responding! I l loved the video! Let me just clarify. The graph had just white votes on it as you said white men, and I felt that it was hard to know which group you were talking about, and kind of felt like you were just ignoring the fact that women exist. I would have preferred you said white people. I'm aware that white men slant much more towards republicans... I'm probably being overly critical.

I may still tackle that in a later video. Just talking about voting habits and rhetoric already made this the longest episode so far. I think I know the topic where that could fit.

I've changed the phrasing on that bit to just discuss white people as a group, because I couldn't dig up the charts that showed white women as compared to white men over time. What I remember of that data is that white women tend to vote about 50/50 Republican, fluctuating up or down depending on the candidate. White men are much more solidly in the majority for Republicans. But, since I couldn't remember where I found the data, I couldn't back it up, so I went with what I could find. :-/

I guess the one semi-objection I have to this is that you don't really go into euphemism as a means to justify laws - you mostly describe it as a way to get votes. I might've been more explicit about how something like mass incarceration or redlining is truly done because it benefits rich business owners, one way or another, but justified through racist euphemisms about crime or drugs. Other than that, very good, this is a very insightful, well-researched series.

So good. And something I think about a lot as part of my practice in life—how much easier it is to do what we have always done. I remember when I learned about Milgram's obedience test. It did not surprise me that people just went along with it. Ignorance runs deep and the path of least resistance is, well, easy to take. If it was easy to love people, even the people we don't like, we wouldn't have the problems we have. Thank you for another excellent video. :)
