I don't quite know how to frame the question or if this would even work for an annotation, but at 9:20 when you get to talking about cultural insensitivity—I'm just thinking about how scapegoating the individual as the problem gets us out of ever having to ask about the culture that allows that individual to exist. So like, how folk are vocal about the individual, but not willing to address the larger social issues. Dunno...I'm just rambling here with a thought and am not sure how to put it out as a question but, what is the relationship between scapegoating the famous (or infamous) in any arena as an avoidance tactic for dealing with larger cultural influences?
