Early Access: Kenny & The Walking Dead
🕑 Added 2015-11-30 13:09:46 +0000 UTC Hey all,The Early Access version of the new video is up. It's called We Don't Talk About Kenny: Telltale's Walking Dead Season 2. This is not the final version - on rewatch, it needs some tweaks to the pacing in a couple spots, and the end credits go on too long, and I don't know why the music is skipping like that so I'll have to do something to the audio.
Final version will go up tomorrow morning, so keep this one under your hat til then. This was a very, very hard video to make.

Wow, this seems like a really brutal video game. If you can play/view this, then sticking it out with Kenny doesn't seem that crazy in the end. I wonder if our culture is emotionally scarred. I don't know where this lust to live through events like this come from. It seems like such a strange scenario. The car scene is textbook abusive father figure. I wonder why there are so many of them, but my guess is the writer is basically writing what they know, pretty on the sleeve. I think families like this are very common in the U.S. Especially through the latter half of the 20th century, if not always and still. Why through the lens of zombies and bit parts though...

I have never played the Walking Dead games, only the Wolf Among Us. This video made me cry. Thank you, Ian, for making this wonderful video. Your insights are as cutting and poignant as ever. I hope someday I can make video essays as polished as yours.
