Innuendo Studios on Reddit
🕑 Added 2016-05-11 00:33:19 +0000 UTC Hey all,Your fellow patron Jason put together an Innuendo Studios subreddit last week! (Apologies for taking this long to tell you, it's finals.) Those of you who have, or are interested in acquiring, Reddit accounts are welcome to start some discussion there, and we'll see if that goes anywhere. I'm also gonna mention it on Twitter and whatnot, so it won't be exclusively ours. (If anyone's wondering, yes, I have some problems with Reddit as a platform, but with good moderation individual subreddits can be pretty great.)
I'll try to make some time over the summer to figure out what kind of situation we want to go with for patrons specifically, and thank you all for the suggestions on the last post!
Also, gonna go with Michael's suggestion and put a comment right after this (and probably future) posts encouraging discussion here on Patreon. We're in "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" mode!

Accidentally posted prematurely... Also, what I have in mind when opening a discussion, is not to admonish potential participants. But to A) encourage participation, and B) encourage participation between everyone present, as opposed to everyone talks at the host, and perhaps either disregard other points of discussion, or do not get involved because of a belief that either that's the host's job, or that they cannot be a substitute for the host, or equally entertaining. These are biases that I think are brought to comments and discussions. Especially when small scale. Patreon often has fewer comments than say Youtube, or the primary place for discussion. To that end it can be a good release valve, or secondary less crowded place for discussion. By default though it seems like the best place. Youtube is notorious for low-quality comments. Often Youtube comments are simply not read on principal, and so it's non-viable as a place of discussion for all (It's the lowest common denominator.)

Okay, no comments! So I'm obliged to comment. I think there's a real danger in not having a primary place for comments/discussion, as clearly when this happens (and it's kind of the real threat that sites like Twitter pose to the Internet, as it steers the discussion away from the primary source) the discussion is no longer happening in one place, and so we may or may not be in the best place, or we may feel like we have to be in more than one place, saying the same things.
