How to Radicalize a Normie: Step Three (rough)
🕑 Added 2019-09-25 16:20:52 +0000 UTCHere's another chunk. As with the last video, the script has been streamlined but not re-recorded, so things are a bit clunky in places and don't always 100% match the slides. Feedback welcome but anything to do with audio quality or minor graphical inconsistencies I already know about.
Not sure how long the next segments are gonna take, they're longer. But it's looking like an early October release of the full video at this pace.

Only a handful do this explicitly, Molyneux being the go-to example. And, like, we've got how many folks saying it's OK to cut ties with your family if they won't accept you as gay or trans? They appropriate that language when talking about being conservative.

What are they seeing that makes being told to intentionally distance yourself from your family not raise all sorts of red flags?

Shhhh, don't spoil the next bit. :)

Isolation is also the first step in a relationship becoming abusive.... interesting

Great segment though. I never thought about how alt-right talking points & memes serve to isolate new members from people who won't tolerate that kind of shit.

The bit about how the meaning "getting woke" has shifted is an important discussion, but it feels like a distraction from the main argument. I had to pause the video and rewatch that section to understand what you were saying & get back on track. You might want to streamline that point or save it for another video.
This makes me almost regret stepping away from my family who have become more and more radicalized 😕

This seems like a terribly depressing video to work on--thank you for taking the time to do this work.

*grumble, grumble, grumble* :D

gearing up for the next one being way longer

This one seems shorter/less dense than the first two.

Stefan Molyneux in specific says "deFOO"

so are they using Family of Origin as opposed to the new Right Family? ugh, it sounds so gross
This is really good, Ian. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole thing together, I think it has a lot of power behind it. (Like all your videos in this series!)
