Ragnar's new Games from the Underground video is live, complete with my four-minute segment on Peak Bleak Blues. It's mostly the same as when I showed you the preview, but Ragnar put music under it at my request (he's better at sound mixing than I am). Do check it out, the other contributors all did great work and there's some good stuff in there. :D

I mentioned just the other day that YouTube had age-restricted the semiotics of "cuck." At first I was like "oh well," but then learned that age restriction means people can't watch the video if they're not logged in, so I figured I'd at least try contesting it. I argued that it's impossible to discuss the racist subtext of "cuck" without unpacking its relationship to porn, and stressed that the pornographic imagery is heavily censored, and said it's mostly people under 18 using the term so it's important they have access to the context.
In response, YouTube deleted the video and gave me a community strike, saying the video was pornographic.
(also, hilariously, here's what showed up here on Patreon after I typed the above)
I can't get the video reinstated because it is gone, so I'm going to have to re-edit and re-upload. That will be a bit of trial-and-error because YouTube never tells you the specific segments they take issue with, so I'ma have to guess. That'll take a few days, I'm prioritizing my next video for now, but you can still watch the mirrored version on Vimeo.

Sucks, dude :( I understand the need to protect children from actual pornography. But implying that someone was using your video to reach climax is off the charts stupid.

Gotta love those algorithms. I watched the video, and after the algorithms flagged your video for potential porn the images, well, didn't leave enough to the imagination.

That's awful, I liked that video and the fact that it got such good engagement (in both senses of the world). I hope we'll be able to hype up the recut version to the same degree if you make one. At least we can watch the original (and Lady Eboshi is Wrong) on Vimeo.

That sucks. Another reminder that Youtube give zero fucks about treating creators fairly. It really makes me wonder what (if any) human review actually happens when you contest a strike on a video.

Youtube's (and by extension Patreon's) bullshit about continually shifting their community standards and rules such that a given work is both simultaneously within the confines of whats acceptable and likewise outside of it is infuriating and I think could serve as an interesting topic if you ever need more topics. :)

Thats a helluva thing. Considering how censored the segments that needed to be were, its not hard to just do a very minor amount of digging to find some full on nudity existing just fine on youtube. =/ Best of luck with the guessing-game-whack-a-mole
