Ship Sail

You might recognize my ship tileset in the above image from the Open RTP tilesets that I released earlier in the year.
The new thing is those sails-- the original set didn't include sail tiles. Similarly, the original Time Fantasy ship set had some weak sails that looked pretty limp and didn't make sense for when the ship was in motion.
Today's release is a step towards improving that!
This is a little tile add-on with some improved sails for the ship tilesets. There are two variations-- one that will work with the OpenRTP sets (seen in the preview above), and another version designed to work with the Time Fantasy ship.

Next, I'm planning to expand on this by animating these sails so they're blowing in the wind.
Tbh I'm not exactly sure the best way to do it yet... So stay tuned; the second part of this release will come next week.

for the animated versions, I'd suggest something as simple a single ripple going across the sail, that can be sped up or slowed down as needed in engine :)

Holy moly! You don't know how amazing these are going to be for a couple of projects I'm working on right now! I'm planning to release the first game in a 3 part series very soon using the original TF ship tiles, and can then use these new sails in the second and third games in the series. I'm hoping to release it early next year, just need to put the finishing touches together. It was one I started in RPG Maker VX Ace, so it's been in development for a while, but I'm really pleased with the results. It's a point-and-click adventure game called Rotten Planks. These are truly awesome!!
