On the whole historical Elizabeth Bathory thing, the historical story is that she was simply an extremely brutal and sadistic employer who punished her servants cruelly for slightest infraction. And that didn't get her in trouble, by the laws of the time she had the full right to maim or kill her servants as she saw fit in the name of keeping discipline. It was only when she allegedly brutalised her handmaidens who were nobility themselves that the higher authorities got involved.
