New model and plans for the month
🕑 Added 2025-03-02 01:17:51 +0000 UTCHey guys! I'm sorry for the slow week but I was really looking to find a more permanent solution to my problems rather than kick the can down the road. I'll give a more detailed explanation below but if you just want the most important bit then I am working on a new model/style with a new approach. I uploaded a few tests today but the style is not finished. The Mel at the end is a good example of what I want to go for but its not there yet. I am going to complete the unfinished sets from last month and work on this model in the background until it's ready to take over.
So a few things I tried were:
I tried Illustrious 1.0 based models and while they have great detail they're too crazy to be consistent. For example, Choco's tail kept segmenting into multiple tails and the background was a mess.
I tried different prompts, tags and upscaling methods for my old model but it does not move the needle.
I tried to make a new style on my old model but it still has some intrinsic problems, that's when I realized I probably need a whole new approach
So the new approach is:
This new model is less photorealistic. I want to try doing more with the color palette as I think that can make more striking backgrounds/images while also easing on the details.
I am also doing a different kind of prompt structure with barely any negatives. The idea is that this has a lower floor but a higher ceiling as the AI is less restricted. Consistency is nice, but not nice if it's consistently not reaching the highs I want the model to.
Hopefully the examples I posted illustrate what I mean. The model and style is not complete but I would love to hear what you think so far! It's made using a combination of what I have learned from style's A, B and C.

Yeahhh but I'm hoping that if I optimize my time well enough I can handle it. It's just gonna be another month of all AI lol, I watched my one movie for the month a couple days ago. That's fair. I'll try to have more pics soon that are more developed to hopefully give you guys a more complete picture.

Thanks! I agree I like the atmosphere of the scenes this model can create. I might fill out the Marine one into a set, I'm really happy with how that one came. I tested it primarily on more voluptuous girls to make sure it could do them but I can definitely do more slender tests for Kanata/Towa for the next batch. I actually had two prompts of Kanata and another Towa that were gonna be included in this batch but I cut because I wasn't happy with them yet. They'll be in it next time for sure! I agree I am not a fan of the Mel face, I like the idea of having more control over the colors but I prefer the more orthodox faces too.

Thanks, that is really valuable to know so I don't go in the wrong direction. My struggle with this style has been trying to retain the detail of Kronii/Towa with the control of Mel because I agree with you, the detial on Mel is lacking and we can't have that. You can expect some Suisei this month for sure! I working on a pin-up wit her/foobs/Miko but Suisei used to be one of my mainstays so I want get in the habit of doing sets of her again.

That looks like a lot of work, finishing the previous sets while creating a new model/style looks crazy time consuming ! About the pics, I think they're pretty for sure, but I can't really give an opinion about it yet, I would need more pictures and have a more complete aspect of what you want to reach

The new style excels very much in creating atmosphere! It fits Okayu's mysterious vibe and Kronii's open swimsuit and open ocean scene! The bed scene with Captain Marin is also very exciting. This model has an excellent background, but I feel that she excels in designing a voluptuous body. I would like to see more designs of slender girls like Kanata and Towa. Mel, the fifth one, has a completely different facial structure than the previous ones. (Slightly more pop-animated?). I prefer the orthodox face from the first to the third one.

To be honest, I think that the Mel image is worst looking out of the bunch, I just feel that it lacks the detail, also the lighting makes it look too... orange. On the other hand, pictures with Kronii and Towa are great. I'd love to see some sets with Suisei in the future.

Yeah I want to make the skin tone/colors better as well as make the faces more distinctive/expressive. Those are my top priorities now. I'll have some more pictures soon~ Ah my bad! I went and corrected the links, thank you for letting me know!

I think the body curves of the new model are more realistic, but the colors are a bit lighter. How about some more pictures? One more thing, the top link is still from February~
