The last picture I saw of Penders, he no longer looked like a live action Ned Flanders; he shaved grew out his hair, and gained about 60 lbs. He was one of the first comic writers out there I'd seen where he basically encouraged his fans to be toxic. I can't tell you how many people to this day die-hard defend him, even with his thumb up his butt about "The Julie-Su Chronicles" and how he STILL hasn't released it after, what, 12 years now?
