Because you guys commented that the first episode was a bit slow, I just wanted to help with your expectation management: BCS is not as flashy as BB, but it is still a masterpiece and every bit as good as BB. . It is very character-centric, which makes it more of a slow burn but is rewarding.

I loathe Chuck too but he's still nearly my fave BCS character. Kim Wexler is my favorite character in all of TV right now. I have my reasons but I can't talk about them without spoilers. :)

Jimmy yelling "you have meddled with the primal forces of nature" and "you shall atone" is from a movie called Network from 1976. Really good movie (more famous for the "I'm mad as hell" speech). It basically predicted the rise of news-as-entertainment and reality TV.

Plus the show tends to have more comedic elements. I could classify the show as more neo-noir while BB is a modern western.

Definitely not mine. I absolutely loathe Chuck, though obviously I won't explain why. My favorite character is Kim. Chuck is very well played though.

I hope you guys like this show! Just keep in mind, BCS IS NOT, and was never meant to be BB. BCS is its own animal, and it is admittedly slower and more cerebral. I love it though, it explores and fleshes out its characters every bit as well as BB did, and I have no idea where they're going with it in the next few seasons.
