I was about to post the same thing. I'm way behind on their reactions and have just got to this episode. I can't believe I hadn't noticed that before. Music is one of those things I usually pick up on right away.

I just realized when they cut to the funeral scene, the music playing is the same piece Chuck was playing on his piano with the metronome ticking away (sometime in S2) right before Howard came calling.

And yes, getting at LEAST a few 2 or 3 episodes of the present day would be magnificent. As the flash forwards progress, you can see that "Gene" is getting sick of living that life. Where that leads.....?
