@Nikki & Steven Did you catch who the director was? RoboCop himself, Peter Weller. He directs five episodes throughout the series. As well as Ethan Zobelle (Adam Arkin).
C. J. Ramirez
Can’t wait till the next episode and the episode after that and so fourth😭

This episode sets the tone for the rest of the show

While the earlier seasons with the Donna drama, the division and Stahl the club felt like they could turn on themselves or fracture in particular when Jax and Clay where at opposite sides of the table. Until Gemma brought them together again. Now Jax isnt balancing Clay out and he is on the same side that is just too much weight to one side. It feels like things can tip at anytime with deadly consequences for someone, all of them who knows?! I will say I hate Juice's story line, I do like he is more involved this season and we get to know Juice better though. He is a great character. As for Gemma, I get it, if I was Tara I'd be torn. I would and wouldnt want to show Jax the letters. It isnt exactly hard proof plus if Tara wants Jax out giving him those so he gets back in deeper is a risky bet. Also though who knows how much danger she is in? We see clearly Clay is desperate and ready to go all in and let no one stand in his way. Look at what he did to Gemma this episode. His probing of Tara, his threat to Piney. And Gemma as well, certainly doesn't want anyone getting in between her; the OG Smoother Mother and her son!

I caught up so quick!! darn now I gotta wait in between binging! lol

Great reaction and yeah this feels like a real turning point for the club. Few extra scenes on my version still for some reason. Tara and Gemma extended conversation at the house before she goes to work. Then an extended confrontation with the guys in the back of the boot then Jax and Kozik make up a bit on the bikes. I think that was all.
Shanice British
Exactly. You have to have proof and get the votes for him to meet Mr. Mayhem so yeah

Its because Gemma does care about Tara and she has no desire to see her hurt, especially since Jax loves her deeply and is the mother of her two grandsons. Gemma just wants the history supressed as it opens a lot of wounds and it would tear the club apart and flip Jax's world inside out. If the letters are left in the dirt, Gemma is satisfied. Clay is acting out of fear and paranoia. Whatever those letters contain clearly scares the hell out of him. He wants those letters destroyed. Their very existence is driving him insane.
DevilJynx
Not without the proof at least. I do think Piney has always known Clay had something to do with JT's death, he just never had the proof.
DevilJynx
Gemma was trying to manipulate Tara, but there was some truth to what she said and Steven was spot on; JT broke Gemma's heart and she was wounded. Clay was there for her and the divide was planted between Jax's parents. I won't say JT wasn't a victim, but he was far from a saint. I sympathize with Gemma to a degree. Roosevelt is repeating the same mistakes made by Stahl. Invoking fear and paranoia in a criminal organization only leads to more bodies being dropped. It's how Donna and Half-Sac died on top of the other bodies that piled up in Belfast. Gemma is for the most part trying to make sure no one dies or gets hurt while trying to supress the information in the letters, but Clay knows the consequences of The Club finding out and that terrifies the hell out of him. Edit: I believe Kozik's vote was an apology of sorts to Jax. Had the gun issue not transpired Kozik would have voted no, but he knew he screwed up, so this was his way of making up for the guns being stolen.

The vote scene in this episode changed everything. You’re in for a roller coaster of a season

I've been wanting to mention the soundtrack from the beginning so thank you for bringing it up the songs set the tone perfectly for what is going on especially in the premiers and the finales! Love you guys

So much going on in this episode. The stuff with Juice bothers me so much. Since he looks like my son I take it personally. Once again I can't wait to see your reactions to the upcoming episodes.
Josh Fairbanks
That song at the end that Nikki liked was by Shooter Jennings the son of legendary country singer Waylon Jennings.

told you about the music the day of the announcement on YT

Gotta love the gun stealing plot in this! Love that matriarch so much! One of those fun episodes that also is a fundamental launch. But I’m with Steven, s3 was my favorite in part to so much bonding/brotherhood, Gemma/Tara too. Though I hated Clay since episode one, of season one, at there least was no beef. The cop getting Juice on the hanger had me FLIPPING. As if Jax gives two shits if he’s half black! Juice has always been the insecure one, he’s an easy target. I HATE it. But “brother” line was lmao
Ashley
Sitting down with burger and beer! Happy 4rth. Don’t worry adding stuff to wall SHOULD take echo-y sound out. Steven might be stressing. But y’all look better than most people a week from moving! Excited see it all set up!

Happy Independence Day everyone

Without spoiling anything. By the end of the series THIS EPISODE set the stage for everything that comes next. God damn I love this show. Hope the move was good guys!
C. J. Ramirez
Yesss so glad it’s back hope the move was good

I knew from season 4 on out would hit you guys much different. Btw, when the kid called Kozick “my lemon head sucker”, that’s a reference to Kozick’s character on the Shield, Lemonhead.
DevilJynx
Bobby was the best pick for sure.

I didn't notice this when I first watched it a long time ago, but Gemma did a better job of deterring Tara from further digging than Clay when he tried to sway her by talking about how raising Jax was the best thing that happened to him, how his love for him is like the love he had for JT, etc. Unlike Clay, Gemma showed her cards and did a good job of reframing the situation to one where no foul play was involved.

I kind of agree with Clay that Bobby would be the best president of the club, even though Clay was probably just doing it to get him on his side. Bobby is the only one, as far as I can tell, who only cares about what is best for the club without any ulterior motives. Opie would probably be a good one, but imo Bobby would be the best one.

i discoverd one of my fav. artist Noah Gundersen thanks to SOA

The thing you guys are also not understanding is that they can’t just kill Clay. They have to vote on it and majority of the table just voted for drugs so they definitely won’t get a majority vote on killing the president of the club right now. Anywhoo Great reaction anyway. That threat by clay at the end still gives me chills 😩

If you guys didn't know, the woman who plays Tara's boss (McNally Sagal), is Katy Sagal's (Gemma) sister-in-law.

And the one and only White Buffalo!!

Fun fact about some of the music if ya'll didn't know already, but Gemma (Katey Segal) sings a lot of the songs that play in the show.
