I dunno, I’ve seen some series ending spoilers; the kind that kill any and all enthusiasm to continue watching / reading, and imo, this isn’t one of them. We all have knowledge as to what transpires next, and as a viewer of reactionary content, that can get us somewhat anxious and excited to see our reactors reaction[s], thus leading one to make a post like above. To avoid this getting too much longer than it already is, ifeel like spoilers of this nature; the kind where you just tell someone that ish is about to go down, aren’t really ‘spoilers’. Sure, you may bring more attention to a specific scene or moment, but without context and clarity, literally ANYTHING can interpreted from it. ‘That moment shapes the next two seasons’ is so vague, where do you even go from there?

Wow I never realized how truly manipulative Gem was here! 🤯 And seeing Jax react. I didn’t fully see how Jax was deer in headlights. Camera shot, from his POV should be blurry, dizzying shot. This rewatch has shown me different point of views of these stories. How Jax really is absent from his own narrative all season. HUGE moves are happening that directly effect him, while he is in the dark. Then facing Tara/Gemma dumbfounded. He’s barely above water. A malleable piece of clay, all the players have been molding with their choices. Yes Jackson made a terrible plan in doing a high risk move, to evade the high risk of his life, yet, it feels like not his fault. I actually see Tara as numb. Hand broke her. Wounded soul. On autopilot. She is clinging, not being master manipulator. Numb not cold. Ugh 😩. Well ep 14, up next.👏🏼ps Jaxs bummmm is exactly what we need for levity! 😏

The apprentice has surpassed the master. Gemma helped make Tara as she is and now her own monster has turned against her. Tara was disgustingly ruthless (and I love every bit of it) With Jax knowing most of the truth, Clay is DOA. Although when I first watched this episode, I thought it'd be more fitting to see Clay stripped of his patches and removed from SoA and then killed. Have him lose that which he covets and then snuff his life out.

They definitely aired as separate episodes. I dont remember exactly the circumstance or how close FX was to actually holding episode 14 to be the season 5 premiere but that was the original plan. I do remember Kurt Sutter coming out and announcing really close to the end of the season there would be a 14th episode. When season 4 started it was billed as 13 episodes. From my understanding which might be wrong looking back 12 years later but I believe that what became the 14th episode was always meant to be shot with the rest of the episodes instead of waiting to shoot it with those of season 5. The main reason for the unusual circumstances of shooting an episode intended for a separate season was due to the fact there were a lot of guest actors and they didn't want to end up having someone key missing due to other commitments. Over the years there have been television cliffhangers that ended up not being able to involve an actor who was intended to be part of the resolution for a range of reasons some involving conflicting schedules, money disputes, contract wasnt renewed and even the death of an actor. My guess is that when Kurt Sutter got into the post production while episode 13 could have been a season finale it wasn't a finale on par with previous finales. So knowing they had a "bonus" episode he went to FX and proposed giving the fans the remaining episode instead of holding it.

Parents are suppose to want the best for their kids but then there’s Gemma who wants her son to be her husband and it’s sickening. Great reaction to this episode. Season 4 was a long and fun ride. Act 1 and Act 2 were two different episodes; one aired before Thanksgiving, and the other aired at the end of November 2011. I can't wait to see your reaction and thoughts on the last episode of season 4.

Great reaction, there is so much to say about this episode. But gotta give the actors some props Maggie Siff, Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal were excellent in this episode. Tara was so cold, in some ways very much mirroring Gemma. Her asking Jax and Gemma to tell them they love her you could tell she is on a different path. Also this is the first time in a long time she has really up-ended Gemma by letting Gemma carry out her plan. Cant wait to see how it all comes together next episode!
