I did appreciate Edward acknowledging who RAISED Athelstan. But Then he called himself Athelstanās father š¤Ø. The sons meeting for first time since growing up was also wild. Uhtred leaving Athelstan in lionās den w/ Athelhelm is so messed up tho. But Uhtred had me crying. Ugh. Am I the only one doesnāt blame Edward, other than not removing Athelhelm years ago?

Yeah I was just saying I remember seeing him training in behind the scenes like for Hotd, in paparazzi shots, while they film TLK movie and I shouldāve put it together because I hadnāt seen the end of the show

Omg! Stomach is knots. Eyes red from crying. Headache. Watching this for first time with you, Iām a mess. Baby monkš„²š„². Stevenā your head dropped, I felt that. I rem seeing Ewan in the set shots of HOTD while TLK movie was filming. Shoulda guessed! š¤I knew the second they stopped the wagon it was her fatherās doing to create CHAOS.

2 years we had to wait between season 4 and 5. I think Haesten lost some weight and with the new hair does look a bit different RIP osferth aka:baby monk. i know he was one of ur favs

Itās a great way to describe how complex the characters and relationships between them are in this show. Itās what makes it so unique.
Osferth dead ..I just cannot get over it.š¹šI remember the first time we saw him ,Gisela was very fond of him.. Baby Monk š¹ I couldnāt watch his last moments Athelheims plotting and schemes end up having his daughter killed ā¦That poor Queen .. Final season last kingdom ..I hope you get to watch BRITTANIA it is as good as Last kingdom ā¦Fantastic series.

Osferth death was brutal. Hated watching his death more than almost any other character. Hearing the agony in his voice was just awful. I do believe that it was actually Aethelhelm who made the first move though. If it wasnāt for Father Benedict passing the information of Aethelflaed dying to Aethelhelmās man none of this would have popped off unfortunately. They sure did a great job making Aethelhelm into one of the most hated characters of any show Iāve ever watched lol

Osferth!!! Damn!! And now Finnan is feeling responsible. Shit! Uhtred is so smart. At least he'd figured out that someone from the inside of Edward's court is betraying. Nobody else had. Everyone else is making moves based on what basically comes down to gossip. Wild.

I was devastated seeing this when it aired but after House of the Dragon I am ok with it. Osferth ascended so the most badass version of Aemond Targaryen could be born! The angelic Baby Monk walked so the devilish One-Eye could fly upon mighty Vhagar! Big props to the incredible Ewan Mitchell for absolutely crushing both roles.

RIP Osferth. What a journey for him as well. From baby monk who didn't know how to hold a sword to one of Uhtred's most important men and one of his best friends. We must protect at all costs Uhtred, Finan and Sithric. These guys need a break.

The actor that played Aethelhelm did such a fantastic job this episode. This guy created so much chaos this season, such a great villian.

Rest in Peace Osferth. We all were waiting for this one because we knew itād be a tough one for you guys. When he first arrived he had never even held a sword and now⦠The Saxon Distraction did his duty to his friends. A few things. The bit at the end is meant to feel weird because itās a look at a man at his absolute lowest. Itās meant to be pathetic. As I think you figured out, that wasnāt Finanās kid but one of Sihtrics. Father Benedict made a mistake in the moment but no one made him aware of what was happening and he thought he was speaking up for the people and he didnāt stop until he got hit.

And I'm totally sorry that comment was as long as a book. Sometimes when I type, I don't realize how much and I hit send š¤£š¤£

This episode made me ugly cry. Both times now. Lol Osferth's death is a really hard one for me it just breaks something inside me each time and makes me feel exhausted. =/ And with Edward it's not just him acting like he cared about his wife now that she's dead, he was upset about not caring for her, when she was alive. Yet also she was a biotch lol She was not a character I cared about. I can understand her, I can understand every character. Didn't hate her but didn't like her. I could understand why he didn't like her. Her death didn't bother me though I hated it for what came about because of it. Because of her father. I can't say she didn't want Edward to love her, but I don't think she loved him. She was really fake to his face but behind his back she would conspire with her father. She may have wanted his love and because of that part of her behavior behind his back was just spitefullness, because he didn't. But she was also her father's daughter without a doubt. So I'm not mad at Edward for being disloyal and not loving her. I don't like seeing disloyalty but when it's a couple who doesn't love or care for the other, it doesn't really effect me in any way. I think it would show even greater strength and character if he had been, even if he didn't feel it or want to. But he's a king, and just like his father, and other kings (and other men, and women) he's had his fair share of indiscretions. The moment when he sees his dead wife just hits home to him that he wasn't faithful, that he didn't try to be a true husband. He feels ashamed. And expresses that to his "new woman". (Her name always leaves my mind š) he puts all the blame on her for a moment but she calls him out. Their indiscretions are on both of them. And he sees it right after she says This isn't her guilt to shoulder. And both of them are right in that moment. They did do wrong, and they're also not to blame for the queens death. Ultimately that is the queens father's guilt to shoulder. Her death just made Edward fully consider these things and in those moments you get to see something of the man Edward, not the king. Edward isn't bad he's just a king. Raised to be a certain way, behave a certain way. You see him hesitate alot to make sure his information is correct. He wants to keep his alliances. He doesn't want to start a war. He wants to keep the peace and keep his people happy. He wants to do right. And his new lady isn't a bad person either. Shes also much better for Edward too. She didn't have goals or schemes. She just slowly fell into the place next to Edward and has gained some confidence in placing herself next to him in moments of authority etc. Sometimes it's unnecessary and kind of like "okay chic sit down". Lol But she never oversteps in a negative way. Not like the Queen's father has been doing for forever. Edward (unethically) killed the Ealdormen, for the right reason. He should've done the same to his father in law. Sometimes I feel like I'm probably defending Edward. I'm not, essentially, I just feel like sometimes while watching a show people gain a first impression of characters but miss alot of other things, or don't consider everything fully in the moment. He's not my favorite character but I've honestly never seen him as a bad character. Same with Alfred. I disliked Alfred at times way more than Edward. I've come to have a neutral viewpoint of kings. Lol Edward has proven himself in certain moments that are worth remembering. Especially given his past mistakes and actions, when he does do something right it makes it more impactful. Basically, he's just a dude. š
