It's hit and miss...I noticed there would be one but the next video would say not available. The thing that socks you can pay a website to have a place to post but if they decide to shut down you are out of luck. I did a memorial for a friend. Paid for life... then it was gone.

Thank you for the quick reply, yeah I figured that. I am almost entirely asking these questions because I myself am interested in being in the movie/series reaction space on YouTube but as I was doing research I’ve heard some scary things to say the least that can come out of it so I’m just confused on if I should do it or not and how to navigate it safely if there is a safe way.

Just saw you posted an update video, sending you guys support that must suck, just wanted to ask a question that I’ve been meaning to ask some creators for a while now and it seems to be for the bigger creators like you guys who don’t have the fair use disclaimer in their YouTube video descriptions and I just wanted to ask if that disclaimer is pointless to basically include onto your videos.

Got it, and I assume you guys post your videos to private or unlisted first to see if it gets copyright claimed then if it does go back to the editing board until it’s clear to be uploaded. Or you guys just post it regardless of being claimed because the content isn’t monetized on YouTube anyways. I’m guessing it’s one of the two.

That's a little more complicated but the easiest explanation on what makes reaction videos safe from copyright is: 1) the video has to be transformative 2) it can't do damage to the IP and 3) can't serve as a substitution for the original source. So for us, by chopping the content up and removing a bunch of it and providing commentary throughout, we we following copyright laws.

Yeah I figured, thank you for the additional reply! And I have a final question if you’re open for it, if copyright is in place for content like this then how do you do your posts on YouTube? I’m confused how one’s supposed to go about this since people such as Brandon Likes Movies got into complications. I don’t even know if you guys are or can be monetized or not on YouTube.

It's a copyright law violation so the decision is easy for us... no one should ever be showing the full show/movie, especially today knowing how serious it is.

Oh okay cool to know. I also know you guys do the watch along and don’t show the movie/show footage on Patreon whereas some others do. I’m wondering how the decision for that is chosen and what the best choice is?

I’m not a paying member here on Patreon so I don’t see the content anyways but I’m wondering how come you guys and some other creators don’t post your videos via the Patreon player itself but instead use other sites to host your videos?
