Speaking of pranks on Lance, is there a sneasel group that will discover that dragontamer is back and will come harass the interloper? I can't tell if we're suppose to think sneasel are that vindictive or if it will be Agatha having her jollies.

Hope he also deals with the "stolen" people situation, give them a chance to return home.

Nice Time Stranger reference at the start haha

Not really. Normal pokeballs can force the capture of a pokemon just fine. I'm aware that there's an in-universe explanation that says that pokeballs can't capture a pokemon that doesn't want to be captured, but an explanation like that obviously can't be used in a more realistic setting like in this story. How would've anyone ever managed to catch a pokemon in the first place if that pokemon had to want it first? How would humans as a species even manage to survive on a planet with pokemon if that were the case? Also, Fiore's desire to want to get rid of pokeballs would fall flat right then and there if that were the case. All these capture balls are is a potential tool for Fiore - *cough* Team Plasma *cough* - to take pokemon away from any trainer they arbitrarily decide to be 'bad' by their own teachings, which apparently also say that it's okay for a kid like N to just go and straight up mind control a bunch of wild pokemon into working for them. Oh, and people too. Pretty sure N also mind-whammied people on Shamouti too, so I guess that's a-okay as well. Apparently mind control isn't as bad as using a pokeball. Sure, Fiore could get all rah-rah about this new thing, but they'll damn well use them if they get their hands on them and just as quickly justify it as a necessary evil if need be if they even have to. It's not as if they're masterballs that catch pokemon without fail. Had team rocket constructed such a thing, they wouldn't have raided Silph Co. to get the prototype in the first place. Capture balls don't represent some sort of greater threat to pokemon in general because they catch them better or something. The only thing special about them is its ability to catch trainer pokemon, which just so happens to be the exact group Fiore is targeting. It's quite literally a godsend for Fiore. These things are only a nightmare to Indigo and every other region that uses pokeballs.

Im a little suprised that empress isnt picking up that the singer cant get up an dance, a predatory pokemon would normally pick up on the wounded and weakened, but i guess being "home" unbalanced her enough

Thomas Keller

Thinking about it, these Capture Balls justify a *lot* of Fiorian concerns about Pokeballs. They very demonstratably can *force* Pokemon to be captured, returned, and kept in their ball at the will of the wielder, and are essentially everything that Fiore is "paranoid" about in regards to Pokeball Society, to the point of even forcing the capture of even "good ones" like Brock and Titan. I suspect that there's going to be a lot of political hustle and hassle about the three remaining balls, even if the "obvious" route is to research them so that future balls are proof against them.

Loved the chapter. I hope Empress doesn’t leave the team. I would be surprised though as her daughters and mate are with Brock

HoldTightAndPretendItsAPlan

Also makes it clear that he wasn't holding those pokemon as hostages/power buff like old Overlord. Clearly states for all to see that Brock doesn't believe in stealing and will stand for the law even when lawlessness might benefit him

HoldTightAndPretendItsAPlan

We know having pokemon out at home is still kinda new for her (Sabrina made a comment in an earlier chapter about slowly adapting to Alakazam reading in her house), but maybe Sabrina let's them out more at her Gym? She passed that Fiore Quiz with flying colors so she must treat them very well? Besides, we know psychic pokemon tend to be more isolated in the pokemon world. So it would make sense if Sabrina keeps them in their pokeballs for their own comfort (and they might also be in the habit to prefer their pokeball; even when visiting that city a few chapters ago Sabrina still didn't have as many pokemon out of their balls and exploring as Brock did)

Some Total Kretin

I think it was not the only iron on the scale of that decision :)

Jonathan

BTW love "his prank" now I'm wondering if that girly scream was Lance's or Lorelie's?!! ROFL. I'm going Lance. He's got video of before it too hehehe.

Cool

Alexander Gofric

She's obviously been dealing with a lot of crap from the prior overlord, who we now know is also a rapist, and stealing Pokemon is so antithesis in the Pokemon world and its cultural. belief's of the poke ball I'm not surprised she got a bit impatient. She's been likely soothing a lot of ruffled feathers for a very long time and wants to make things better now that she finally has a chance. I agree its not wise 100% but also not surprised.

ShinLupin

I somehow doubt that the Crushers have that much knowledge, maybe old lore that Brock can analyze but not working know-how of that level.

ShinLupin

doubt it, the tripletts need her and the Gym is a way better place for raising pokemon to become strong

Peplum

I wonder if Empress will stay and become that lead singer's pokemon? It would be on point

HoldTightAndPretendItsAPlan

The implication that Empress gave Titan to Brock because Brock smelled familiar and not just because Brock impressed her is so neat!

Big ToFu

yeah, its going to come out that Empress was on of them, but idk how thats going to change things, it might make it more solid since he might have brought back one of the most powerfull and forfill the bloodline or something.

BlackRazaras

Thanks for the chapter

Alexander Gofric

I also need to see Agatha's, Lance's and Oak's reaction to the bond phenomenon with Brock and Titan. Its such a unique and special thing in the pokemon world that so few people manifest. Also I can't wait to see what other unique lost knowledge the Crusher tribe has. They recognized the bond phenomenon so they probably have a lot of obscure knowledge and aura techniques they can teach Brock. Finally Brock will have access to knowledge and techniques unique to clans like Lance has with the Blackthorns.

Alexander Gofric

Love the cultural elements for the tribe you are introducing. Agatha as always is amazing and love to see the hints of respect and care she has for Brock. I will say the comment about Sabrina caught my attention. She does seem to let her pokemon out to play less then Brocks. As psychics maybe its not needed as much but it does seem strange that its really only ever Alakazam and/or Kirlia than come out to play.

ShinLupin

A lot of selfreflection here, Not just from Brock nor on just one topic . There is so much to explain before anybody can even begin to make decisions. But Brock breaking the capture-balls was maybe the best move, now he has some solid Support

Cred

Was kind of expecting this, though I'm still surprised at how BADLY Jade blundered. I knew that she was going to to be an outsider to Indigo culture, and I knew that she still didn't fully view Brock as a mature, experienced leader, but I still thought she would have the wisdom to not pull anything until AFTER she had gotten a better read on Brock. That she did the very same night, without warning or thought on the full repercussions is surprising.

This was a very moving chapter. Thank you
