When I set out to write this story, I wanted to write a hero that you didn't see so much. Not an anti-hero or a villain, nor a do-no-wrong angel.
The hero that is wilfully reckless, that has two choices and finds the third. A chaotic force that is more willpower than power, with a personality more Punisher than Captain America. More John McClane than James Bond.
Not a dumb grunt, but not the smartest guy in every room.
I hope you enjoy this chapter. It was fun to do some payoffs here.
And I hope that Nate is a hero that you haven't seen before. I hope he makes decisions that surprise you.
Even though this is a space opera that doesn't shy away from tropes and influences, I hope that it has become unique through Nate and how he acts and reacts to the galaxy around him.
Mostly, I hope you're enjoying the ride!

I'm excited to see how this pans out. Your message seems a bit final, so I can see how this could end with a fairly raunchy epilogue or how it could lead to a second wind in the series. I could see how Nate, now a galactic hero and intertwined with a lot of major political power houses through his little harem, has to navigate the spot light being thrust on him while also dealing with the aftermath of the bugs rallying. Either way, I've enjoyed the journey.
