If I want cartoons that aren't for kids, I've usually got one of two choices: anime, or dark and deliberately depressing adult "comedies." Which is often just fine. I still do stumble onto an anime I like every now and then, and I have enjoyed some edgy, misery-based cartoons like Bojack Horseman and Rick and Morty.
But every now and then I get nostalgic for the fluff action cartoons that I grew up with. And for that, I usually have to turn to shows aimed at teens rather than adults. Miko here is from one such show called Glitch Techs.
Is this show popular? I honestly don't know. It just had a second season drop, and it isn't even featured on the front page of Netflix, its exclusive home as of this writing. The flashy action sequences and the premise of fighting video games brought to life is a nice fit for me. I'm going through the second season now, but it's a slow process because this isn't a show I can have on in the background while I work. The visuals are so distracting I kept putting down my stylus just to watch it. Technically a mark in the show's favor, but not great for my work schedule.
Do you guys have any suggestions? Can you name any solid action cartoons aimed at teens that are appealing for adults as well? I'd love to hear about them in the comments.

How is everyone missing the obvious one? Go watch the new She Ra, it's fantastic

Intreresting stuff for sure, thanks for the input! :)

Oh I missed that part, lol. It’s on Disney Junior so is aimed at a younger crowd (no romance at all, practically), but has some adult fans.

So I messaged Reinbach about submitting some ideas for future art but I some ideas I wanted to float. So I only found this hentai a few months ago but "Muramata-san no Himitsu | Muramata-san's secret " is a firm favourite. It is surprisingly wholesome but the premise is that guy working in an office develops a relationship with a woman working at his job that is his senpai. He discovers that she actually has her tongue split. I love the idea of having a secret or hidden things like tattoos and body mods. Like the idea of a colleague you believe you know very well having a secret kink they may indulge in without you knowing and discovering that and eventually sharing it. I thought it could also be something that would work in the comic series too. regards, CGman

Young Justice also Damn good.

Hey good call! Most of us know about the Batman and Superman cartoons from that era but I feel like the Justice League show is a bit more obscure than it should be.

I have seen Gargoyles and i fucking loved it. I even bought the amazing but damn-near-impossible sega genesis game as a kid and sank countless hours into it.

Thanks!

Interesting! Heard of that one and wouldn't really consider it aimed at teens, but the art style sure looks nice.

I have seen those. Loved both series and wish there were more of them.

Haven't heard of any of those, thanks for sharing! I'll give them a look.

That I have seen, good stuff for sure.

Oh, and Teen Titans. Good stuff.

Justice League, Justice League Unlimited were my favorites as a kid. Earlier this year I re-discovered Duck Dodgers in the 24.5th Century, a spinoff of Looney Tunes. Way better than I remembered it, also dat Maritan Queen hnnnng.

Disney´s Gargoyles. Just Watch the first two seasons on Disney + still great. Demona is just a amazing villian. And Keith David as the voice of Goliath is awsome. The other voice actors are realy good too. I believe the whole Cast of Star Treck TNG are in the Gargoyles.

I still can’t believe they had that cheerleader twerk scene on Cartoon Network on symbiotic titan 😂 I liked that show though

She's totally hot and rides that dildo like a pro. :D

It’s not really an action cartoon, but Elena of Avalor was really good at times, had a few action sequences and good fights, and featured an honest to god Disney Princess shooting someone in the face with fire and killing them :).

Season 2 was hampered by Mako gaslighting her (and no one, including Asami, stopping him).

If you haven't watched Avatar then both The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra are great. The first series is a bit more teen focused but does have it's serious parts. Korra meanwhile realized that the audience that watched the original has grown since it aired and so it definitely made it more adult in focus. While season 2 isn't the best, seasons 1,3, and 4 are great.

My favourite show growing up and inspired my love of martial arts

Avatar the legend of Aang
I personally never watched it but Symbionic Titan comes to mind. Another suggestion, although I don't know how well it holds up, would be Megas XLR. I remember really liking that as a kid
