The X chromosome contains genetic information about not just biological sex, but important things like skeletal muscles and nervous system development. As such, the human body has evolved to function with only one X chromosome, so having two would cause DNA to have conflicting information about all these traits. Early in the embryo's growth, half of its X chromosomes are "inactivated". Twins split into separate embryos before this happens, so in a pair of otherwise identical twins you might have only one who's colorblind for green light, or a goddamn idiot. If the twins are identical, which I'm pretty sure they are, why is Mary seemingly so much smarter than Trish? Different personalities I understand, but you'd expect them to have similar mental aptitudes.
