🕑 Added 2021-10-19 02:10:51 +0000 UTCIf you've been around here awhile, you know that while I can often be critical of The Legend of Zelda, it comes from a place of love. This series is my jam. I was able to play through Ocarina of Time again for the first time in ages recently. I found it had been just long enough that I didn't have it all memorized anymore, and I had a blast with it. Sure, 90% of the combat in the game can be described as "twiddle your thumbs until the enemy finally flashes his ass at you," but it's one of the most influential games ever made for a reason. A lot of it is still great.
Side note, if by chance you've never played it and I've piqued your interest here, I implore you to track down the 3DS remake of the game. It's the definitive version by far, I feel, and the only version worth spending a chunk of money on in this day and age, but don't tell Nintendo that. They seem to think otherwise lately. XD
As for the picture, don't get me wrong, I love Link, and I didn't draw his princess banging his enemy just for the sake of cucking. The truth is, I just have very little interest in Link and Zelda as a couple. Barring few exceptions, they're rarely shown to have have any real chemistry with each other. (Link typically being portrayed as silent and often downright emotionless just might be the issue there.) Besides, Link has plenty of other options. In recent games, pretty much every female he meets is thirsty for nice mute hero.
I don't think the mainline series has any entries that are "bad," though I do think some are better than others. My personal favorite entries are Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild, how about you? I'm always down to talk Zelda, let me know in the comments if you've got something to throw at me! :)

Wait, before I get resoundingly corrected by many I just remembered that the Asari in Mass Effect do not reproduce asexually, they can just bang any species and always have girl babies. Maybe that's more the Gerudo style.

For sure, I guess I meant more that everyone else is voice acted while he isn't. There were a couple of parts, especially in any scene with Mipha, where I was just screaming for him to actually say something. XD

I liked the idea of Link&Mipha in Breath of the Wild. There are many sapient species in Hyrule and the idea they would have some romantic coupling or at least some DTF would make sense.

Your comment about Link not talking when everyone else does in BotW makes even less sense because Link DOES talk. He's just not voiced. Like, you pick dialogue boxes! He makes shitty jokes when talking to the Sand Seal Rental Lady in Gerudo Town! But yes, I do quite love BotW

Nice! On that note I do hope Linkle shows up in the main games someday. If Link isn't going to talk, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to pick male or female at the start if you ask me.

I loved that one so much when it came out, the idea of being able to just pick a character and follow them through their whole day was mind blowing to me. I've had a hard time playing it as an adult, I never make it past the water dungeon without running out of time and getting pissed off lol. But it may be time for another go now that I just finished replaying Ocarina. :)

For my money Majora's Mask is the best of the series. I love the darkness of it and the twisted feel so much of the game has without losing the Zelda identity and without losing a happy ending either. There are so many small details and elements to it that stand out from other Zelda games and I think the overall time loop and how it was handled is something few games have really matched. Particularly in regards to the atmosphere of each day's changing. And of course the masks mechanic and all the creativity that comes with having so many different abilities from a single item was and is something I wish more Zelda games would use again. I feel like there's an enormous amount of potential in it and the farther along games come the greater that potential becomes.

Oh, for sure! I did think their relationship was an improvement in Breath of the Wild, even though it felt weird to have Link still be mute when everyone else is finally talking. And there were games where I liked their dynamic, though it's usually the ones where they're kids like Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks so I don't think of them romantically. XD

I agree in general, but I felt more of Link and Zelda's chemistry in Breath of the Wild. Also seems like it might grow in BotW2. 🤷🏾♂️ I will disagree though, Link and Zelda should be together in my mind. Reward for her loyal knight.
