Health first, always!

Jariah Synn

My guy, ya health comes first. Period. Take all the time you need.

Vince

Glad to hear it. Hope you’re feeling a hell of a lot better

Reinbach

Oh yeah! XD

Reinbach

Just an infection it seems. Though I should maybe still see an optometrist because I failed the vision test HARD at my appointment and I can't say if it was all because of my issues or not.

Reinbach

Thank you! And I'll make a note of that one!

Reinbach

I like audio books for memoirs, mostly. There's something very profound about hearing someone recount their own life story. Bruce Campbell's "If Chins Could Kill" is a great one.

Reinbach

Thank you!

Reinbach

Agreed! I highly doubt a random quote from The Bard would have been half as marketable even if it was more honest. XD

Reinbach

Much better now, thanks!

Reinbach

Hey I'll make a note! I'm signed up for my free trial of Audible after all. :D

Reinbach

Boy do I ever agree at this point! XD

Reinbach

Yes, I FINALLY found an urgent care center that accepted my insurance on Tuesday.

Reinbach

Thank you!

Reinbach

I did, thanks! Back to good now. :)

Reinbach

Thanks! Doing much better now!

Reinbach

Thank you! I'm back up to 90% as of this writing! :)

Reinbach

Thanks, all. Turned out it seemed to be eyestrain so bad it caused an infection. The goo they gave me on Tuesday had me more or less back to normal by today. :)

Reinbach

High fives! :)

NKL

Brings back memories of the CRT display days…

Slaughterbug

It may be a good idea to see an optometrist. That sounds bad.

Chris Davis

I had a similar experience when I had Pink Eye in both eyes several years ago, so I understand your frustration. Audiobooks got me though it as well, though I picked Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden Series. Very enjoyable! I'm very happy to hear that it sounds like you're getting better though! No hurry on the next installment, get back to 100% first!

Dorian Alton

Not that it helps with current eyestrain, but if you do much non-audio digital book reading, I'd highly recommend an e-reader. Older ones or those without backlights are no harder on the eyes than paper would be. Sorry to hear that the Steward auto-biography was such a slog before the Trek stuff. I have dipped into audio books occasionally if I like the narrator, but I'm often put ff by the length, as I'm a pretty quick reader. I think they definitely have their place though. If I was a long distance driver or something, I'm sure I'd eat them up. I do like some audio plays though, since they're written for that format. 1 hour investment instead of 30, etc.

Emmett

Care about you, Rein! I'm glad that the pain has reduced, and I really hope that you can figure out the way to prevent this from happening to you again, because I'd hate for you to lose your ability to see. Feel better soon, and I hope that you enjoy the next audio book you start more

Pat Bryant

This sounds serious. You NEED to know what's wrong!

HungryOuroboros

It's all too predictable that the title would be to grab the trek audience, and the actual contents of the book is what Stewart is actually passionate about. Not that there's anything wrong with that, at the end if the day all that TNG was to him was a job (if a good one), it just seems cynical to market it that way.

Lord Washington

Hope it gets better soon man.

Jack

Start with an ophthalmologist. Most similar experience I can recall is a friend who was in misery with eye strain (pain plus stress of getting essentially a career sidelining disability she didn't even understand, wondering if it could be psychological, it sucked) until some Dr found some kind of special glasses to use at the computer, and the problem was just gone after that

llCDll

That all sounds awful, hope your eyes return to normal soon. If you're stuck on books and if you like fantasy at all I humbly recommend The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Amazing book series.

Graci

Hey, take care of your eyes, that is the most important thing :-)

Vince

Have you seen a doctor?

Crimson03

Recover soon dude!

ScuzzBucket

Dang that sounds like it SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. Hope you get to see a doctor soon- if that's a sudden onset and not just a gradual thing it's pretty weird!

Epocseer

Relax and recover my guy!!!! Stay safe and get better

25shadow25

I agree. I understand few hours after a long day of work but multiple days is not normal.

simpleguyy

Hope it gets better!

Whiteoak

Did you go to a hospital yet? This doesn't sound normal.

RenegadePhantom

Oh man, that really sucks to hear! I hope you have a fast recovery and don't worry about deadlines and stuff, obviously your health comes first. I'll give Scorpion an extra kick for you!
