Tonally it looks right up my alley. What probably happened was that the series didn't evolve into my kind of thing until part two or maybe even three. And I have an irrational inability to come in on a franchise from anywhere but the beginning. It's like I have an extreme fear of missing references and Easter eggs. I've missed out on the entire Witcher series for this reason too.
My troubling psychological hangups aside, hope you like the pin up!

Yeah I gotcha it's definitely a series carried by the cast you get to know in 1 and 2, urs less like 4 straight through games and more like 2 is a direct continuation of 1 and then 3 and 4 are its own duo years down the line in the timeline

Yeah maybe I will just bite the bullet and jump in on 2 at some point. It can happen. I never played Persona 1 or 2 and I'm going on that series.

I started in 3, probably start with 2 is better, but you will have no issue, they were very fun and silly games.

You can start pretty much anywhere in the Saints Row franchise as each individual entry is more or less a reboot. SR1 is a GTA clone with a slightly more off colour sense of humour, SR2 is a parody of GTA with a nearly complete tonal shift, SR3 is even more ridiculous than SR2 with another almost complete tonal shift into a far more comedic tone, and SR4 is a parody of the Matrix. Don't fear starting mid series... just don't play the reboot. Ugh. Man, I feel like I'm the only one who likes Shaundi.

I came into Saints Row with SR2, and didn't have any trouble following storyline or anything. They do a good job of telling you who every returning character is and what they did in the first game as soon as you meet them in 2. That said, I didn't really start *loving* the series until 3, when they went full satire. You should definitely pick these up, as they are a lot of stupid, yet clever, fun. Also, Kinzie's safe word is "tea cup".

I recommend giving the series a try the first game is a solid GTA clone with interesting mission giving NPC, the second game is more wacky by still semi series then 3 and 4 go full cartoon and include clones and zombies, and aliens and super powers

Kinzie is probably my favourite character from the series! Kinda makes me sad that you don't do cumshots anymore, otherwise I'd probably request a Kinzie with glasses and covered:P

I also like to start a franchise from the beginning, but Saint's Row 1 can be really hard to get into as it's just a literal GTA clone. 2 is where it starts to incorporate more comedy and find it's own identity, and become more fun lol.
