Industrious Chapter 7!

If you want the full sob story, one of my friends is going to have to put down one of his dogs and he's taking it very badly. She was a rescue, but she's developed anger issues and has attacked his other dogs, so at this point they're worried about her attacking other people if they attempt to move her to another home. I've had to be there for him during this time, so I took a night or two off from writing to do so. Sorry about that, but I should be able to make up some time during the weekend, hopefully.
Anyway! Feel free to ignore the shitshow and enjoy Itachi's first appearance! Woo!

Itachi recently learned about the entire arrangement, having returned from a mission, and is aware that Obito is using Satsuki as something of a cat's paw in this situation. Which he does not approve of and expressed it by walking straight up to Kota and evaluating him head-on. Given that neither Obito nor Itachi have anything approaching real evidence that he's a threat to the village and he's actively helping Satsuki, they're playing it close to the vest right now and not filing official reports. As a fun fact, Itachi is actually the only person who isn't sus about Kotaro's abilities. He just thinks that Kota is on par with himself in terms of potential, he just isn't a clan member and doesn't have to live up to it if he doesn't want to. Itachi totally believes that it's entirely within a person's abilities to construct two different sword styles within a few months because he has no frame of reference as to how non-geniuses operate.

Having it in a single document has advantages for editing purposes. And personally I like it better the way it is as it makes it easier to reread until it gets a thread of its own - if each chapter was a single document that would make it more annoying to navigate.

Because he's now around two preteen children who are constantly swinging sharp pieces of metal under his direct advisement and, as seen here, Itachi is the kind of crazy you do not fuck around with by letting his cute baby sister get injured on your watch.
