What gets me on this...is he knew it was an illusion almost right away, and played along with it, which has to be the first time I've seen that sort of response to this. Usually it's just "Seal it" or "Kill it", not 'play along'. Surprise Daughter Get! Yakumo is going to be surprised, then supremely embarrased when she finds out...and it'll be worth every moment to see this at the end.

tbh, I started skimming when he was going through his illusory future life, but tuned back in for Kokoro. The whole scene makes sense with how she's involved, and it implies some interesting things about the metaphysics involved. Not sure if I'd enjoy a description of those metaphysics, but knowing that they're still there beyond the reincarnation is good by itself.

Basically he made a deal with Yakumo's "dark side". Which translates into him getting a daughter, lol, when he finally has time to get his ducks in a row. Poor dude started this fic wanting to discover the secrets of the universe and chakra but the Harem call is too strong.

Personally I think that the explanation is more evangelion-like. Kokoro (Ido) basically is chakra currently, without even a body. Her way of interacting with the world is genjutsu, that is basically the most bastardized direct use of Ninshu between the ninja arts. As such for her ninshu is really easy to learn

I very much like where this went an where it looks like it's going. I would find it hilarious if he checks Naruko seal him using Ninshu gets Kurama attention an he ends up having to Talk to him

I got that, or well it was implied enough that I was thinking it. But the only thing I can think of as a reason it happened is that interacting directly with Yakumo’s chakra caused this hallucination, although the Implication of Ido knowing ninshu while yakumo doesn’t could be intriguing and imply something about bloodlines
