My absence

First of all, I know some of you have been worried about me, and for that I am appreciative and also very sorry that I've been so absent that I've worried people. I am doing okay, but suffice it to say the past year has been hard.
A few things that need urgent addressing are:
1. March 2022 - if you were still a patron of mine, you were charged for this month, and that's because I forgot to pause membership again. This is something a creator must do every month before the start of the month if they wish to keep a longer-term membership pause, and this month I wasn't quick enough. I'm sorry about that. I am in the process of refunding all March 1 pledges that were charged. I have to manually refund each of them and it takes some time for the site to process each one, so I wanted to give you all a heads up as I am doing this. Patreon says it will take 5-7 business days to process refunds, so you should receive your funds within 7 days at the latest.
2. If/when I'm ready to start up my patreon again I will announce it before the start of the month, so you'll know.
3. August was the last month my patreon was active, I still owe y'all August patrons art for that month. I have not forgotten, and still intend to produce at least the NSFW patron art for that month if not a few other things, and send it out. I completed the postcard for that month and sent it out in the mail to all $10 patrons back in September or October, so if you received it already and were wondering wtf was going on, this is what happened. I just failed to...let you guys know. I will post it here on patreon as well.
For my absence, failure to communicate my absence, and failure to produce content for this patreon, I am so deeply sorry. This is honestly a place I never thought I'd be in and I hate being so irresponsible.

The above is all the essential info; if you want to read on, I'll talk a little more.
Last year was a rough year for me. In 2021 I found myself coming off several very creatively productive and fulfilling years where I made a ton of art, enjoyed myself greatly, and improved a lot. Even through the first year of the pandemic I was still going strong, but I hit a wall in 2021. Drawing felt impossible, my day job was in shambles, and the future was uncertain. I just...struggled so much to make art amidst everything. My productivity was lower throughout the year but in August I just came to a dead stop. I couldn't make art anymore if my life depended on it. I wanted to, but I also had no drive to do so and everything I tried to draw felt and looked horrible. I don't know what happened to me but if you're a creative, maybe you've had moments like this, when you feel like everything you thought you were, thought you were capable of making, is just suddenly not there anymore. My general state of mind kept me really burned out, isolated and depressed, and I fell off socials completely as well, not just patreon. I did absolutely intend to pause for March as well but what happened last month is I finally landed a new dayjob, which is great, but also I've been too busy to think over the past few weeks and just lost track of it.
Nothing terrible has happened to me physically, so if any of you were worried about that, again, sorry. I'm not in physical danger.
I deeply value all of you patrons, past and present, and have really really enjoyed interacting with so many of you on here. The massive amounts of support I've received for my art, and just as a person, has been incredible and I'm so grateful. Several of you have reached out via DM and I will be replying to those within the next few days. <3 I will also check in on discord this weekend.
The future of my art and this patreon is uncertain, but I will update you guys about it when I know more. I have billing paused for April 1 already and will continue to do so until I decide to come back, at which point I will let you guys know. If I do start creating for patreon again, I will have work prepared in advance as a cushion for myself coming back in. If you've joined at any time and not cancelled your membership, you will remain a patron but not be charged as long as I continue to have it paused.

no worries, please take all the time you need. It's true, as a creative myself I understand. Just know that you deserve rest. The only solution I have found to the situation you are in is resting. I know it's frustrating but… It's the only thing that seems to work!

So glad to hear from you! I'm very sorry to hear what you're going through. It can't be easy. I want you to know that pressure can be debilitating, and expectations can be paralyzing. I just wanted to encourage you that you're not letting any of us down or disappointing us in your absence. If you do decide to come back, don't let your imagination of what we expect to scare you. We're good, and we're happy if you're doing well. Your art is fantastic, but it's better when you're happy doing it. So until that day returns, take the time you need.

Im glad to hear you are okay RC 😭💕 i totally understand how you felt...I had that slump in spring but somehow managed to power through the horrible feeling...I hope you feel better and take care of yourself! Your art is wonderful and I've missed seeing it 💕😭💕

without wanting to just echo what everyone else here is saying, i truly am glad to hear from you and am glad to hear you're alright! Congratulations on your new job! Hopefully its "newness" settles down, and you are able to again achieve (at least a small part of) the fulfilling nature of being able to be happy with any art that you produce (even just for yourself! soul-food for you! do some characters that *you* like, just to make yourself happy!) I hope you *do* eventually return (if not here, some twitter postings) but if not, just stay healthy! I'll cherish what already exists! Stay well! 💖
