It's so damn cool to me to see several hundred people have finished my entire first book. It's actually wild and really cool.
I just wanted to take a second and thank all of you for being here and supporting the story. I love seeing people join the Discord too, really fun to start seeing the conversations in there.

Just to be clear, nothing about my posting schedule here, or on Royal Road, will change as a result of this!
Today I got to sign a contract offer from Aethon Publishing. The coincidence that I signed a contract on the same day that Patrons finished Book 1 is also pretty neat.
In the last few weeks I got to meet with and received offers from several publishers in the industry.
For me, this is absolutely surreal. I started writing this for fun with just a single friend’s feedback and them willing to brainstorm and listen to me talk and ramble for hours about system and plot.
The fact that the story took off, you guys enjoy it, feedback, and now publishers have reached out is crazy to me. As an avid litRPG reader myself, I know the Aethon name well.
This is an exciting time and I look forward to sharing the progress with you guys here. Hopefully sharing new cover drafts and talk about who I’m looking to narrate the audiobook. To me, audiobook is such a cool concept. I have hundreds of audiobook titles… so to think that I can pick someone to voice act Alex? Insanity.
I know I’m not a perfect author. I don’t feel like this makes me want to relax and coast, if anything, this just amps me up more. The fact that I’m signed and encouraged to write three books and when I told publishers that I plan to have the series be 8 books and have those publishers tell me that they believe it would do well and work… man that hypes me up and gives me a big confidence boost to keep doing what I’m doing and keep growing as a writer.
So, thank you all again for being here.

Yep! Nothing will change for you guys here! Only people who will really notice a difference is that (eventually) book 1 chapters will get stubbed from Royal Road. But by then you guys will be way past that!

I’ll still get to post on RR and Patreon, everything will stay the exact same as it has been. The only difference is that when it releases on Amazon I’ll be “stubbing” that Book 1 set of chapters. But it will likely take 6-8 months before it launches, because they’ll want to do ebook and audiobook release at the same time. I’ll keep everyone update for what that timeline looks like.

Are you going to continue to release on Patreon now that you have a contract? Don't they think this will cut it to sales? How does this work with publishers/royal road/Patreon?
