Weren't Mark and Sarah outside the rift the whole time? How come they are heading out together now? Did I miss something?

Thomas V.

Agreed on every single point. And I want to emphasise that I’m really glad to see some actual adults in the room, just to put the way our team usually acts into a bit of perspective - I like Alex and co, don’t get me wrong, but they have little experience dealing with high stakes situations that involve more than just them, and they tend to be a bit flippant about it. Mark’s comment about breaking wards really emphasises that, funnily enough, considering we know for a fact that breaking them *is* more difficult. They’re out of their depth here, even if it’s through no fault of their own, and it’s shown really well.

I don't have an issue with Olivia's dialog in that it seems fitting for her so far. She's stubborn to a fault and tends to see things in black and white. I think her being told off here is fitting and necessary. She's been trying to pretend things are fine and she doesn't need help when it's clear she does. In a high stakes/danger situation like this refusing to consider the implications for the rest of the group can result in casualties. I also don't really have an issue with the HA dialog. If anything, I think it would be fitting and make more sense for John to say something to the guy that accuses Alex of being the source of this mess. He knows that the elves targeted him in his own home (not a mistake Alex could plan for) but more than anything he understands that friction and misunderstanding between people needing to work together can be fatal. He should be trying to nip that hostility in the bud before it becomes an issue on the field when he has enough knowledge to shut that down. People might not definitely know Rylan sold Alex out, but they've got enough knowledge to know Alex is as much a victim in this and is doing what he can to help nevertheless.

Also yea, i saw that the reason no one responded is because Jon interrupted and moved over to the Olivia convo. Still wished someone would have addressed it, or thanked Alex for his help, or literally acknowledged his contributions in some way, hopefully with some kind of reward. Honestly though, as nice as any of that would be, I just don't seeing the HA doing anything like that unfortunately

The main think that really ground at me was blaming Alex for the situation. I think from a dialogue perspective, it fits the character, but I definitely hoped to see a reasonable response from someone here. Like, I get why someone, especially in the heat of the moment might think that way, but Alex was doing research that is improving humanity's position and chances of completing the Integration as a whole. Unlike everyone else including HA, he is sharing it for the benefit of humanity, at least somewhat. He even has the card to prove how important his work is. In fact Rylan sold him out, the elves stole his work, and in the end all it did was move up their time frame, and Alex's contributions and understanding of the structure is possibly the only reason they even have a slight chance of understanding and countering it. If they had completed their longer goal with their extremely advanced runic knowledge alone, the humans would essentially have no chance at all. So in fact in literally every sense of the word, Alex is helping more than anyone else, not the least because he immediately took action and responsibilities for the situation that wasn't even caused by him. Again, not bad in story context, just wished someone would have seen it from Alex's perspective and stood up for him, possibly the director or a team member instead of everyone including Alex seeming to consider it a fair point. Plus it would make a little goodwill between Alex and HA, which is sorely lacking for their current treatment of possibly their only hope of completing this mission
