Girl why do people keep saying she’s independent? Shes legit with roc nation, the amount of money they are putting behind her to push her everywhere is impressive but nothing is sticking to the gp. It kind of feels forced at this point like over saturated. That’s how it was leaked a month before it was even announced that she was the host of the VMAs because roc nation made MTV pick her as the host because they were mad that Nicki performed red ruby last year after roc nation told mtv not to let Nicki perform it . Megan is good but if the music isn’t sticking forcing her down our throats won’t help either that’s why since she signed with roc nation she has been spread out thin everywhere promoting Random things. they want her out there as much as they can. At least Cardi is aware of that and knows how to balance it she doesn’t need to be forced down our throat to enjoy her or the music feels more natural idk.

katie’s PERFORMACE* was my personal fav of the night. her performace had the most structure to me. and intricate and eye catching intro to get the viewer invested so she could promote a new single, had some classics then brought the vibe down with firework and that made the ending all the more entertaining… similar structure to bey’s 2016 vma in my opinion

ZACH OMG THANK YOU!!!! I felt like Lisa just wasn't giving what I knew Lisa could give. I'm not sure if it's the camera work, or the song choice. I get she has to promote her new music but I feel like she would've ate up Lalisa or Money. Plus the Rockstar choreo isn't really a live performance choreo in my opinion its more studio performance that can be enhanced by a lot of close up camera work. On such a grand stage it doesn't look complete because she has to lowkey run to every formation. It looks choppy and doesn't flow well.

I have a wild theory, but part of me is very suspicious about why all the girls besides Katy were giving in their performances. I think Katy’s label gave all the girls a little extra incentive to tame their performances down so that no one would outshine Katy. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but just the look on everyone’s faces, like they were bored, and how all the performances were “almost good” but something was a little off. I definitely don’t think it’s that I think u hold people to a different caliber depending on what you know they can do. Sabrina carpenter had a phenomenal performance FOR HER. Does that make sense? Like it wasn’t the best performance I’ve ever seen but since she’s not knows to be a super amazing performer it seems like she slayed it cause it was definitely one of her best performance's. I think Lisa was nervous. This is her first Western performance since BlackPink’s hiatus so it’s expected. I do wish she had sang live more since the choreo wasn’t too difficult but I think as it went on she got in the groove of it and it finished good.
