I noticed in the dark room that one of the versions of Gaga was body-painted to look like a doll. Look at her elbows and knees in that scene. I'm thinking that was The Fame because with it being her very first studio album under a label, she was under the full control of the label no? As with any upcoming artist, I feel like the label has a heavy hand in the creation of an artist's work--even if it's not the direction the artist wants to go creatively. (i really hope this makes sense. i'm a little 🍃 rn 😂)

in the scene with the twins, ive theorized that the chains keeping her upright and dependent on stepping on the twin are expectations that come with growing fame. if the twins are tfm/btw it makes sense bc thats when she exploded on the scene.

each iteration of her is an era from her music career, and the monster represents her authentic self being consumed with each album that passes. the darkness in her mind (that she can't outrun bc it's a part of her) grows in strength the longer she ignores it, essentially. at least from what i gathered

I'm sure this has already been said, but the antagonist in the video seems to be her desire to make more money in her career at the expense of her art. Which is why the "deamon" character quite literally has it's "eye on the bag".

This just goes go show how art is so subjective, because my first watch I was so convinced this was her interpretation of the Madonna comparisons way back in 2010-2011. First glance I thought Madonna was the driver, what with the blacked out tooth representing the gap in her teeth (which shes done before in BTW) and Gaga was of course Gaga run over on the hood

We have to acknowledge the work of ms parris goebel honey, because choreo is not only about synchronizing steps, is about all the body work that is been developed in the scene - the way she moves, the way she performs, looking tired, looking angry, the positioning and the steps when she’s cuffed, everything! The work on choreo was amazing and much more liberating and creative than just steps to dance on tiktok you know? This is art. It deserved more and it was given more.
